I never left a cake behind -- until now. I have a sweet tooth, I never say no to a cake, this place made me break this streak. The cakes were way too sweet, I have never seen this before. I have explored so many places in Oxford (Barefoot, Missing Bean, etc.), and never had an experience like this. It felt like tasting a sea of sugar. My friend tasted his cake too, same experience. I sent a message to report this -- I genuinely thought they had mistaken the sweet jar for the flour bin... and tripled the quantities. The owner denied me being there in the first place (?? thankfully I still know the shops I visit), then denying they sell the cakes we ordered (lol) and finally doubled down with a dismissive, standoffish attitude. The UK suffers from massive obesity issues, I think we have found one of the drivers. I personally will never set foot in this place ever again, the experience was horrendous. Oxford has countless better options with people who know how to balance ingredients, or at least have decent...

The cafe itself is fine. The service was good, the tables were cleared frequently and serviced quickly at the till. The cafe atmosphere was inviting and warm until they opened the door to welcome in the wet cold weather. Decafe coffee is awful, taste is not nice at all. The dessert is fresh and tasty and only reason to give it two star as hot drinks was not nice and portion of coffee for price was shocking. There is no toilet for customers and I looked up the legislation around toilets that should be offered to customers particularly if you have more than ten chairs. Overall, I would not come here again, Oxford has lots of cafe, cheaper with toilets so why consider coming here unless you want to grab and go a sandwich. Maybe cup of tea...

I am in awe of this amazing coffee shop. I was greeted by the barista as soon as I entered as if I was a regular (I had never been before). The standard of the latte art was absolutely incredible. See proof below. A wise person once said how you do one thing is how you do everything. The attention to detail here is awesome and is evident everywhere you look. The sandwiches were prepared and displayed with love and absolute precision. (And tasted as good as they looked) This is one of those very very rare speciality coffee shops that combines product obsession with true welcoming and authentic hospitality. Just an amazing experience. Do not leave Oxford...

Lovely atmosphere and staff. I’m a guy who always struggles to pick between options but I’ve never made such an instant decision before. This sandwich was actually calling my name, and consisted of all my favourite ingredients. A stunning rye baguette (my favourite bread), chicken (my favourite protein), brie (my favourite cheese) and a lovely onion relish (my favourite sandwich sauce). Even before ordering I knew it would slap but then it was toasted to perfection and the creaminess of the brie led to a flavour explosion so powerful it forced my fingers to begin typing this review. I will be visiting again!

This place would easily be 5 stars if they were to have a bathroom and I would happily come back repeatedly if they did. However they do not. If you need the toilet there is a social work space less than a 5 minuet walk to the right which will let you use theirs. Drinks were fantastic and the vegan cake was delicious. Not sure about £7.45 for a vegan sandwich tho! Even Gail’s is cheaper and whilst I appreciate Gail’s is a chain, almost £8 for a sandwich is the price you pay in a captive environment, like a major station or airport etc.
