If you're looking for a sweet treat in Oxford, George and Davis Ice Cream is a must-visit spot. Not only is the ice cream delicious, but they offer a wide variety of unique and exciting flavors that are sure to please any palate. One of the standout flavors for me was the dark chocolate orange - it's rich, creamy, and bursting with flavor. Another favourite of mine for fruit lovers, is the raspberry sorbet, a must-try. It's decadent, smooth, and perfectly balances the sweetness with a slightly bitter edge. But it's the more unique flavors that really set George and Davis apart. So if you're feeling adventurous, they host a number unique and unexpected flavors to delightful and surprise you, a perfect way to mix up your usual ice cream routine. The quality of the ice cream at George and Davis is top-notch. The flavors are always fresh and the texture is smooth and creamy. Plus, the friendly and knowledgeable staff are always happy to help you find the perfect flavor. Visiting G&D's is an absolute must when visiting Oxford, if not this store, but one of the three locations in Oxfordshire.

A fantastic place to visit if you are looking for something sweet but also for a snack. They offer a good range of choice, from the bagels and breakfast dishes to the desserts and ice creams. The place is not too big but you will find some seats and tables to eat in. The staff is kind and ready to full-fill your wants. I took the “cookie monster” that is an ice cream (I picked the oreo flavoured one) between two big warm cookies dessert. Absolutely fantastic. Both the cookies and the ice cream were truly delicious. I will probably jump in again if I would pass in front of the shop, because I am curious about all the other stuffs they are offering. A very positive and remarkable note must be done about the cleaning of all the local. Tables, chairs, floor and especially bathroom were tidy and shiny. Nice job! The position is not so close to the city centre, but with a ten minutes walk from there you will be able to reach the shop. It is worth the diversion from the city tour, I promise.

George & Davis, located at 55 Little Clarendon Street in Oxford, is a charming ice cream café that has earned its place as a local favourite since its opening in 1992. Known for its high-quality homemade ice creams, sorbets, and a variety of treats, it has become a go-to spot for both locals and visitors.

The café itself boasts a cheerful and welcoming atmosphere, with bright and light decor that reflects its vibrant, friendly ethos. The staff are often praised for their helpful and welcoming service, making it a pleasant experience from the moment you walk in. There’s ample seating, including additional space downstairs, creating a cozy environment perfect for enjoying your treat at your leisure.

When it comes to the menu, George & Davis excels. Their ice cream selection is both extensive and inventive, with popular flavours like pistachio, Amarena, salted caramel, and dark chocolate orange regularly standing out. The ice cream is made fresh daily using high-quality ingredients, resulting in a smooth and rich texture that’s hard to beat. Aside from ice cream, they offer delicious bagels, including pizza bagels, cakes, and refreshing smoothies, along with a range of hot beverages such as coffee and tea.

Operating from 9:00 AM to 11:00 PM daily, George & Davis is an ideal spot for both early birds and night owls. Whether you’re popping in for a quick ice cream or settling down for a relaxed coffee, it offers something for everyone at any time of day.

Customer feedback is overwhelmingly positive, with many commenting on the superb quality of the ice cream and the friendly service. One reviewer remarked that the ice cream, made with Jersey Cream, is "the best, full of flavour and a joy to eat." While most patrons have great experiences, some mention that the café can get busy during peak times, leading to longer wait times. A few customers have also reported less-than-ideal service, though these seem to be in the minority.

In conclusion, George & Davis is a delightful spot for anyone craving exceptional ice cream in a welcoming setting. Whether you’re after a classic scoop or keen to try something new, it’s the perfect place to indulge your sweet...

If you haven't been to G&Ds then you haven't "done" Oxford. Where in other cities you are restricted to pub and restaurant after work this city has three ice cream parlours open until midnight. The atmosphere is cozy, the food is awesome and you can get a good range of teas and coffees with cookies or cake. But you won't eat cake. What did I say!?! Yes my good friend Internet you will eat ice cream in the many wonderful forms they have available. Try the cookie monster or the brownie sundae but then what flavour of ice cream? I can't give you ideas because the menu keeps changing as they make flavours from the petition book (which you will sign, oh yes). The Oxford blue is a regular flavour but other flavours like B52 cocktail, Parma Violet and Butterbeer are available. They have also made oddities like Guineas Ice Cream. The bagels make a fresh an different treat for lunch and the coffee is good and fairly priced. Overall you may spend a fortune here by accident but this isn't a place for nourishment it is a place of indulgence so sit back with your favourite book and tuck in to food that will make you an excited...
