Cafe on the Green — Restaurant in Portsmouth

We were so impressed with this place - newly refurbished and under new management. Lovely decor, spotlessly clean, comfortable and inviting. Lots of lovely special touches, including board games to play with, individual pouches for cutlery and a well decorated and clean toilet (it matters!). The staff were friendly and attentive, but most importantly, the food was great - fresh, tasty, quality ingredients and very big portions. You will not leave The Cafe on the Green hungry!! We have been nearly every Sunday for the past two month. The food is amazing every time. Always able to cater for non standard requests without a problem. The eggs are to die for! We normally walk our dogs down and a sausage is always ready for them when ordered. Sometimes before our meal which is lovely. Everyone is so warm and welcoming also. Staff were very welcoming when we arrived, found a table and sat down and looked at the menu. Side note that you have to goto the till to order and pay upfront. Atmosphere in the cafe is clean and minimalistic, with some decor of plants and picture frames. Service was quick, food was delicious and pricing was very reasonable considering quality of food.
