Maeme’s Portsmouth — Restaurant in Portsmouth

I never really do food reviews but this place was so bad that I just had to. I ordered around 6pm on Tuesday 26 th September. Walked in and was greeted by a foreign person customer service was really poor. I ordered a chicken grill burger and 5 strips both extra hot flavour. The vibe in the place was really off and definitely not welcoming. Food took 15 mins to make and i revived the food all packed and a bit surprised as they didn’t ask what sauce of salad I wanted but I didn’t make much of it as they would of at least put some toppings on. I get home after a 30 minute drive , open the packaging and to my surprise I see a chicken strip burger instead of a grilled fillet burger, it was no where to be indicated that it was a strip burger and on top of that there was NO sauce or any salad!!! It was already off to a bad start, had a bite of the burger and strips and it was absolutely not hot at all considering I had ordered extra hot it tasted like medium and I had to put my own hot sauce in to accommodate, the strips tasted so bland and the marinate was not flavourful at all, the chips tasted like they had been cooked in oil which had not been changed in 2 months and as I have worked in fast food myself I could even smell the oil needed to be changed. The (strip) burger was dry as cardboard and had to put my own sauces in this was genuinely such a all round terrible experience I would suggest you avoid this place at all costs and go to umami restaurant not far from here. Maemes is the best restaurant/takeaway in Portsmouth by far. In all the years we have been using Maemes we have never had a bad meal. We have eaten in, also used the delivery service and collected it ourselves. And everything is always on point. Food is always piping hot. Truly the best flavours. We have grilled chicken, '' sauce we have is Hot". The spices are just amazing and the chicken just falls off the bone. If you get a platter, get the whole chicken, chicken wings, comes with fries, rice, salad and a drink. This is well worth the money and everything that is served is great quality and flavours of food. 3 of us have this regularly. My partner has also had the burgers which he loves too. Forget the big brand chicken shops. Once you go here, you won't be going back anywhere else. You won't be disappointed in Maemes. Great customer service too. I ordered a meal today at 9 pm. Received food at 10 pm .when I got the food drink was missing.i asked the driver where is the drink he said I’ll bring it to you.then when I open the bag there isn’t any rice in the bag. So tried about 100 time to call the restaurant it’s busy .my daughter went to bed without having the rice.still waiting for the driver for the drink but the driver isn’t even coming.when went to the restaurant to complain saw they where chilling in the restaurant including the driver.when I asked the driver where is my drink brother he said I told them if they don’t give it me then how can I bring it to you .great answer.and the attitude of this guys isn’t acceptable at all.they was swearing at me.i guy used f ward.i also work in restaurant.they don’t have any idea what is the customer service is.they want me to be nice and come when I have 2 of the item missing .
