Have been to the Nut several times over the years, but a few times more recently as they are able to accommodate myself and friends as a group requiring 2 tables .... which they are more than happy to move together. The lovely Maria always greets us with a warm welcome and the other café staff are equally friendly. There is a fairly large menu offering a wide variety of drinks, snacks, lunches and meals. Prices are about average, although some of the main meals are a little above average. Toasted sandwiches, omelettes, salad are pretty good value. You can have a card stamped when you order a hot drink in order to receive one free when the card is filled. This café cares about its customers....the staff hospitality, environment, food and convenient location led a friend to choose this venue for his birthday lunch. Unexpectedly, he was presented with a slice of cake and candles, which truly made his day. Thank you so...
Read moreThis business is outstanding when it comes to showing care and compassion. I have visited with people who have learning difficulties over the past few years and have found the staff to be courteous, respectful and kind. Today they took it to another level! The taxi turned up before she was ready to go. The staff liaised with the taxi firm and me and resolved the issue. But more than that, they really showed such compassion and understanding for the wider issues. They even offered to drop the lady home themselves! I could go on and on about their kindness!! Thank you Cafe Nut. You are all...
Read moreRidiculous, immense price for a breakfast of £18.50 for 2 x 6 item cooked breakfasts is extortionate. I live in Newcastle and the average price for a cooked breakfast is around £6 for a 6 item cooked breakfast. This place is clean and the breakfast was nice but at that price I expected it to be served on a silver platter. I wouldn't visit again due to the crazy price of £9.25 per person for 2 fried eggs, a few baked beans, 1 x slice of fried bread and 1 slice of what I considered to be very greasy bacon and 1 x Sausage is insane. I visited with my father who I have not seen for well over 5 years and to be honest I would have preferred to actually visit a proper restaurant and not just a "greasy spoon cafe". Never again, my advice as an expert...
