Tex Mex Premium Street Food — Restaurant in Portsmouth

Ordered for delivery, got a call saying they wanted to charge an additional £3 for delivery because my address was further than they normally deliver to. Whilst I understand there may be a need to charge a little extra the delivery fee is normal £1.50 my address was apparently 1 mile further than their 3.5 mile radius, I queried why they wanted to charge 3x the normal fee for 1/3 additional distance? He was very abrupt and kept talking over me and telling me to just listen. I was going to pay the extra but pointed out that it should have been done at point of purchase, there is nothing clear with regards to this on their main website pages, there is a box on the home page that states we deliver to these post codes but it’s empty and there is nothing in the section where you input your delivery address.. I said they should really update their website and either add the additional cost at point of purchase or not accept the order, his response “we’re poor” so apparently can’t afford a better website, perhaps with better customer service and website they wouldn’t be too poor. He was very rude and said I should order through UBER as they’d deliver, I pointed out that when putting the take away online it lists various delivery options but states their preferred option is direct through them so that is what I had done. Our experience fell short of expectations. Despite enticing descriptions, the food failed to impress. To add to the disappointment, a fly was found in the milkshake lid, the chicken burger was as hard as a rock, the chicken wrap arrived cold, and the sweet potato fries were overcooked.

Although the service was slow, the staff attempted to make amends by offering two complimentary bottles of drink and expressing sincere apologies (hence stars given) However, the overall experience was still a letdown.

We ordered the beef burrito with sweet potato chips, the halloumi salad, and two drinks, and then, to our pleasant surprise, we got a generous portion of BBQ chicken thigh and breast for FREE – an unexpected and delightful treat!

The food at Tex-Mex was delicious. The beef burrito was flavorful and satisfying, perfectly complemented by the sweet potato chips that were crispy and delectable. The halloumi salad was fresh and savory goodness.
