Certainly not the Locks Heath Branch.
This place has been refurbished to a decent standard and I am sure many people will enjoy the fact it’s a new decor and something new for Port Solent, however when you break it down its nowhere near the standard of the Lock Heath outlet.
Service is very slow and awkward; I understand new staff would be needed but half of them don't know what items are what and they miss things you order. (missed drinks, dips and bread)
The food is nowhere near the standard of the other branch, the Boregi was mushy and cold and the pastry wasn't cooked enough. The mixed kebab was a huge letdown, the flavours were just not there, the Lamb was tough and we had to ask for the sauces to come out rather than being brought with the food which again took time. To top it off the chips were hard to the taste, certainly not raw but needed an extra 5 minutes.
Usually, you are served bread and dips at the start or with your starters, this never came and when we questioned this it came out half way through our main. Which meant we were not interested in eating lots of this when our mains were present.
The layout doesn't feel as Intimate as Locks Heath; I appreciate the area is larger but you have lost that extra care and charm you get with a smaller restaurant.

Read moreWe had such a wonderful experience at Yaprak in Port Solent — it’s truly a gem! From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and beautifully vibrant, with a stunning view over the marina. The food was absolutely delicious — every dish felt fresh, flavourful, and made with real care. The meze were a particular highlight, and the grilled dishes were perfectly cooked.
But what really made the meal special was Neil, our waiter. He was an absolute star — so friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about making sure everyone had a great time. He struck the perfect balance between professionalism and warmth, and nothing was too much trouble. Neil went out of his way to make us feel welcome, remembered little details, and made brilliant recommendations. His energy and kindness really set the tone for the whole meal.
If you’re looking for a fantastic meal in a relaxed setting with outstanding service, I couldn’t recommend Yaprak (and Neil!) more highly. We’ll...

We had the pleasure of dining at Yaprak, and what an incredible experience from start to finish! For a restaurant that only opened this week, everything was running seamlessly.
The food? Absolutely spot on – fresh, flavourful, and beautifully presented. You can tell a lot of care has gone into curating the menu, and each dish we tried was packed with authentic taste and cooked to perfection.
The decor is also worth a mention – stylish, modern, and inviting, with a warm ambiance that makes you want to stay a little longer.
But what really stood out was the amazing staff. Everyone was welcoming and attentive, creating a genuinely enjoyable atmosphere. A special shoutout to Mo, the Iraqi waiter who truly made our night. His friendly manner, knowledge of the menu, and genuine enthusiasm added a personal touch that made the whole experience even better.
