Berry's Bakery — Restaurant in Preston

I had a very disappointing experience with Berry's Bakery. I ordered a small lunch for a group of medical practitioners via Uber Eats and included explicit special instructions to label each sandwich, as it was catering for a small event. Upon receiving the order, we realized none of the sandwiches were labeled, and they all looked identical. The group was reluctant, for sanitation reasons, to go through each other's food to determine which order was which.

When I called Berry's Bakery to seek a resolution, the person who received the call acknowledged the written instructions, apologized, and said the mistake was due to an error by a trainee. Despite the lost Uber delivery charges, I offered to cover the cost to travel to the bakery and pick up newly made and relabeled sandwiches. However, they informed me that they could not remake the sandwiches and suggested that I "look through the bag" to determine whose sandwich was whose. Given that many of the orders were the same (three shredded chickens), this was not a reasonable request, especially given their admission of error.

Ultimately, I was left dissatisfied with the experience and had to offer attendees what was hopefully their correct order. I am leaving this review because the company doesn't prioritize food labeling, which is crucial not only for hygiene and sanitation but also for issues of food allergies—one of which we were aware that at least one person suffers from. Shocking service.Ordered 2 breakfasts via Uber Eats, only one arrived despite the receipt attached to the bag clearly saying two. I rang and told them.what had happened and was told nothing they could do and had to contact Uber for a refund. When I suggested they could do something as in sending the missing breakfast and that getting a refund didn't solve the issue me of someone not having a breakfast was just told again nothing they could do. Awful health & safety standards, not to mention a complete lack of cleanliness. Pie filling is scooped by hand and most employees don't bother to wash their hands after using the toilet so... Most ingredients kept there aren't dated and just forgotten in the fridge. Issues with rats in the actual bakery. They only started listing ingredient info on their products a few months ago and can never decide what the best before date should be on their products. A truly awful place to support. I'll have a...
