Feltons is one of the most well stocked military stores in the country, a family run store with over 100 years in the business. They have links in the industry which enables them access to some of the highest quality real military clothing, accessories and more, and their surplus office supplies are cheaper than you would find anywhere else.
Original military wear & massive stock of camping equipment is great for cadets, campers, festival goes and even fancy dress - they are always sure to find you what you are looking for and you can always find a great bargain in there! They also have great ranges of sizes for plus sized people, things you would not expect to be able to get hold of in a non specialised shop (and shoe sizes too!)
As Feltons has some competition in Manchester, i'm pretty sure the poor review below is definitely from one of those (and its quite obvious as they have recommended their own store - silly haha) - At Feltons prices are often actually about a quarter of those you would find in town in the mainstream stores, Mr Felton, his son and grandson are some of the most knowledgeable people in the industry with contacts around the UK to source quality goods and even supply many soldiers with the right kit that they need. (Perhaps Mr Google User is bitter at the fact that the Feltons have better contacts? Sounds like it to me!)
Anyway, I would always recommend Feltons, have had camping gear, clothing, boots, a desk, swivel chair and two chimneys (which I grow plants out of in the garden) and everything has been excellent, they will always go out of their way to offer you a brilliant service, deliver your goods on time, have a laugh in the shop and also heavily support the Help For Heroes charity which is lovely to hear!
Thumbs up for Feltons, long live family run...
Read moreI went here with my wife as she is running in the Edinburgh marathon to help raise some money for - Help For Heros - and she wanted an army style vest/tshirt to run in - when we went into the store we were told that we had 5 minutes or the shop would close - not a very good start - I then asked if they would do any sort of discount as it was for charity and the reply we got was absolutely terrible and I felt as if the guy was giving us a telling off - as I am not the smallest of chaps and am quite switched on and confident I told the guy to stop having a go as there was no harm in asking - I then told him how poor the service was and how we would take our custom else where - on exiting the door we then got a reply and I quote ''theres always one isn't there'' - my wife quickly pushed me away and calmed me down as I was well ready for smacking the fat prick right in the mouth - anyway we went elsewhere and got exactly what she wanted from another store - and they even knocked some money off as it was for a good cause - moral of the story - DON'T...
Read moreThis really is a company Preston can be proud of. I've not been for at least 15 years but I nipped in today and had the same great experience as I remember. The staff are so knowledgeable and really are helpful. The staff even pointed me towards another company for a different need I enquired about. I've nothing to compare the prices to but I was amazed at what I came away with for the amount I paid. I wanted a particular item and the staff were able to provide me a great alternative that fit my price range and more that suits my needs. Don't always use the website, go and visit because it's...
