So went here for breakfast one day. I'm gluten free. Asked at the counter what options were gluten free on the menu? Was told to go and check on the computer which was situated over in the corner which was like a McDonald's touch screen type thing. So I'll then have to put in that it was the breakfast menu. So that's what I am, what allergies I had and then it gave me all the options that I could pick from. There wasn't many to be quite honest. I was quite shocked. There was no option of gluten-free bread which was really disappointing and I ended up choosing bacon, mushrooms and scrambled egg. These all have to be bought as individual items. It didn't come as a as a breakfast as such because I was picking what was actually available for me to eat and so that and a coffee which obviously then is unlimited came to £5.67 which was quite dear. Actually because the mushrooms work the best, the bacon severely overcooked Not bad, just overcooked so really quite leathery and scrambled eggs were good. Nice! Know nice flavor consistency. Only saving Grace was. I ended up getting three coffees which sort of recoups. A bit of my money spent on a pretty poor breakfast. Probably won't go back to try a breakfast again. I did eat with friends there. They had various different breakfasts. Similar comments came up that the mushrooms weren't the best. The eggs were a little bit sloppy and. Staff semi-pleasant but to be honest probably could have been a little bit nicer and made me feel quite separate to the group of people. I was within having to go and stand over in a corner. I'm really computer screen to find out what I could eat for my allergies because the menu wasn't satisfactory enough to be able to tell me what was or wasn't gluten-free so pretty poor if you're eating gluten-free at this restaurant really...
Read moreMy recent visit to J.D. Wetherspoons' "Twelve Tellers" in Preston left much to be desired, earning it a three-star rating from me. While I enjoyed a nice coffee and a satisfying all-day breakfast with my girlfriend and her mother, there were several notable drawbacks that affected our overall experience.
First and foremost, the recent nationwide price increase was disappointing. While I understand that businesses need to adjust prices, it was still a downside, especially when compared to the value we previously enjoyed.
The atmosphere of the establishment was another letdown. Instead of a welcoming ambiance, we were met with a lackluster atmosphere that failed to create an enjoyable dining experience. The dim lighting and dreary decor did little to enhance our visit.
Service was another issue we encountered. The staff seemed overwhelmed and understaffed, leading to slow service and delays in receiving our orders. This detracted from the enjoyment of our meal and left us feeling frustrated.
Lastly, the unpleasant odor of stale sweat and spilled alcohol permeated the air, further dampening our experience. It's disappointing to see hygiene and cleanliness fall short in an establishment of this caliber.
In conclusion, while the food and beverage offerings at Twelve Tellers were satisfactory, the overall experience was marred by increased prices, poor atmosphere, slow service, and unpleasant odors. These factors ultimately led to a three-star rating for this J.D....
Read moreWe decided to visit before the Euros final kicked off so my experience is based on that. The pub was packed (as you'd expect) we sat down at a table and decided that ordering a drink would be faster via the app than going to the bar, this was a mistake. We waited an hour before I decided to just go to the bar and order our drinks at which I had to wait another 20 minutes to be served (at the front of the bar) the 2 staff they had on the bar had no regard for who had been waiting for the longest and just serve who they want (usually a girl is priority). After getting our drinks at the bar our table order still hadn't arrived, after two hours had passed I asked one of the staff who replied 'drink orders are about an hour wait' I said we'd been waiting 2 hours now and she said okay I'll go and look. She went and returned with our drinks almost immediately. Once we left just before kickoff (as we'd booked for the fanzone) to my surprise there were about 100 drinks all placed on the service area of the bar but nobody handing them out. Won't be coming back at busy times again unless you decide to employ some more staff to deal with it, having 2 staff on before a Euros...
