The Switch is a small, independent cafe located in Tilehurst, Reading. It's a popular spot for breakfast, brunch, and lunch, and it's known for its creative and delicious dishes. The Chorizo Duck Eggs on Sourdough is one of the cafe's most popular dishes, and it's easy to see why. The dish is made with two duck eggs, which are fried until the whites are set and the yolks are runny. The eggs are then topped with a generous amount of chorizo, which has been cooked until it's crispy and flavorful. The dish is served on a slice of sourdough toast, which soaks up all the delicious juices from the eggs and chorizo. I recently had the opportunity to try the Chorizo Duck Eggs on Sourdough, and I can honestly say that it was one of the best breakfast dishes I've ever had. The eggs were perfectly cooked, the chorizo was flavorful and crispy, and the sourdough toast was the perfect accompaniment. I would definitely recommend this dish to anyone looking for a delicious and satisfying breakfast. In addition to the Chorizo Duck Eggs on Sourdough, The Switch also offers a wide variety of other breakfast, brunch, and lunch dishes. The menu changes seasonally, so there's always something new to try. The cafe also has a full coffee bar, so you can enjoy your meal with a cup of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate. The Switch is a great place to enjoy a delicious and satisfying meal. The food is creative and delicious, the service is friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is relaxed and inviting. I highly recommend The Switch to anyone looking for a great place to eat in Tilehurst. Here are some additional details about my experience at The Switch: The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting. The cafe is small and cozy, with plenty of natural light. There's a small outdoor seating area if you prefer to eat outside. The service was friendly and attentive. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and was happy to make recommendations. The food was creative and delicious. The Chorizo Duck Eggs on Sourdough was the highlight of my meal. The prices were reasonable. The Chorizo Duck Eggs on Sourdough were £10.95, which I thought was a fair price for the quality of the food. Overall, I had a great experience at The Switch. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a delicious and satisfying meal in Tilehurst. 3rd visit to the switch and as great as ever.

Decided to visit this place on New Year's Day as I was local to the area, hungover and in need of a tasty breakfast. We managed to find this cafe via Google and thought we would check it out. The cafe has a beautiful setup inside and outside, we decided to sit inside due to being cold and wet outside. We found that the menu offered an extensive range and variety of food options and was impressed with the wide range. We opted for the English breakfast and "make your own" breakfast. The quality of food (every ingredient) was amazing, the sausages were high quality, the bacon, the potatoes, beans and all the sides. We also opted for a green smoothie which has lots of different flavours in whilst also feeling very refreshing (which was needed). We did have to wait a long period of time as our ticket order got misplaced (hence why 4 stars on the service section of this review). The owner did apologise and made up for it. I think it was just a very busy day for them, so we understand mistakes / issues can happen. We are all human, right? I will have to visit this cafe again when I'm next in the area as the food and general service is great. THE FOOD WAS UNREAL! I really can NOT stress this enough! I would highly recommend this cafe to everybody and everyone. Its not even expensive, a few more extra quid than your local spoons or other cafes / restaurants (for breakfast) but you are paying for the quality of products used! I really rate this place. 10/10

The menu offered a wide array of options from savory classics like full english and eggs benedict to sweet treats, there was something for everyone to savor. The flavors were rich and well-balanced, leaving me fully satisfied with every bite. However, it's important to note that the place was busy, which inevitably led to a significant wait time. The high demand meant the kitchen was quite busy, and service might have been a bit slow. Yet, once the dishes arrived at the table, it was evident that the wait was worth it. In conclusion, if you're willing to exercise a little patience and appreciate a well-prepared breakfast or brunch, this place is definitely worth a visit. Just be sure to plan your visit accordingly, as its popularity often translates to longer wait times

So I am staying in the area around Purley for a few days to see my daughter and needed somewhere for a hearty breakfast to set us both up for the day, having looked at the reviews for this little gem we simply had to try it for ourselves, we are both extremely picky about our food and I used to be a long suffering slave to the catering trade so im the worst customer in the world and always have very high expectations of which are often blown into the wind. Well let me tell you that this place, delivered on everything. Before we even ordered we could see other people's delights and they looked amazing, I had the full cooked breakfast and it was of absolute quality, the bacon was especially good and cooked to perfection, my daughter had the pancakes with vanilla infused mascarpone, berries and banana, the pancakes were huge & fluffy, true American style. The staff were lovely and very accommodating, the food arrived pretty quick, the coffee was superb so I had 2 cups, as I'm a big coffee drinker especially if it's good. I'm pretty sure we will probably go again for the next few days and really hope another well deserved review will make you go too, it's definitely more than worth a visit. Sorry we couldn't add any photos as phones and food are a...
