The Prince — Restaurant in Reading

as soon as me and my friends walked in was straight away asked for ids not even welcomed or asked if we’re okay. showed ids and then was about to walk to a table to sit down and decide what we wanted to drink. was rudely told by the ginger young staff lady there that we need to buy a drink to stay. which i thought was obvious? we said yes we’re just going to sit down for a couple minutes. she said are you actually going to buy one though? even tho we just said we were?😂 not even 2 mins later we went and got two drinks. we stayed for about an hour and played a couple games of pool. i was stood between the high top table and the pool table with a drink half filled next too me. once again the young ginger lady came over and was telling us we need to by a drink to stay there and that we can’t just stay here all night . she said we can finish our game then we have to leave? but wasn’t saying this to anyone else. not to mention i hadn’t even finished my first drink😂 very rude and so much attitude for no reason. was overall not nice from the second we walked in...

Nice pub, freshly renewed but I think they had a very bad day.

They run out of chicken roast and all the burgers, so we went for the only roast options available: pie and beef roast.

The beef was inedible, hard and taste less, veggies where overcooked and tasteless.

Pie filling was good but the pastry was uncooked.

Service was inattentive, we had to stand up many times to get the cutlery, napkins and salt. We spent more than 30£ and left unhappy and hungry.

We really wanted to like this place but nothing worked out, hopefully they just...

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Very rude and unpleasant woman approached me right after parking ordering me to move my car as soon as I parked, when my husband was about to go in for a drink - he hasn’t even had a chance to get out of the car when she ordered us to leave. Proceeding to threaten us with a parking fine when she wrongly assumed we weren’t going in, even after I said we were going in! What a joke of a pub.
