Istanbul Mangal — Restaurant in Reading

We hadn't been for a while so we thought let's go out for dinner with our two little ones.

We got two mix donner meat and chips, wings for the kids and couple of drinks. The chips tasted like they were left out and put back in the oil to reheat them. My son who loves chips like all kids, didn't like them at all which was a first.

We bought 5 wings and were shocked on the size and quality of them. They were tiny and charged £6 for it!! We took the remains with us out of politeness as we didn't want to be rude but ended up throwing them away which I normally don't like to do. They weren't great at all and had a horrible smell.

On top of that, they offered if we want chilli sauce and had the cheek to charge for it which I was astounded as I have never ever paid for sauce in a restaurant/take away.

When I brought to the workers attention about the chips, he said they were made fresh and it was just an "odd bag" and sometimes it happens. Another odd response - blaming the bag of chips 🤦

Had to go back and feed the kids dinner at home which was disappointing as they did not enjoy it at all so sorry but not...

I ordered food from this place Mangal in tilehurst and when the delivery come it was wrong. and I was unhappy with the service as my order has been wrong 3times before- so I told the driver to take the food back. unfortunately I forgot to put a pitta bread back in the bag and the man from the shop phoned me and start threatening me that he's going to smash my car and smash me if he comes here and I don't pay him a couple of pound for the pitta bread I forgot to give back. I don't know what they do in Turkey if a customer is unhappy with their order but in England you most definitely don t threaten a customer. I am completely shocked with what this person has said to me I am frightened he might actually come to my house I'm going to have to protect myself cos I live with my daughter. but i am absolutely disgusted with the vile things this man from the shop start saying to me about violence and say disgusting stuff about my mother I am shocked and would ask people to help me not to support this cruel backwards establishment. go back to Turkey with...

I'm regularly customer for 10 years. Today wasn't the tasty meal neither service. Not asked if in or take away as i was usually asked, I sat down with my son after placing the order. Young man was preparing it and packing into take away boxes and wrapping it in paper . After 5 min when everything was ready , he called me only to find out that we were eating in. So they have started moving food in to the plates . My kebab meat wasn't hot and juicy as usually . My son's was mixed with salad which has happened during the transition of it from take away box to platez. Came with soggy chips. What happened Istambul Mangal. Wasn't there the boss on a shift today and you got more lazy? Today it was the £21.30 worth disappointment especially that I let myself to spend money for buy to eat...
