We absolutely enjoyed our Halt & Pull experience – it was our second visit for this is long-awaited pub formerly known as the local chequers that opened recently as a Gastro pub, Separate from hotel it offers a mix of both traditional and modern surroundings coupled with a warm homely comfort and a very well-priced menu - very different to any other places. We decided to explore it and were happy we did it! The pub has really a great story and history to tell – it goes back in time and was the halfway halt from 1537 – It has ample car parking facility and is really a must icon to visit, experience and explore – great friendly first-class service, exquisite menu, and warm authentic heritage in grade listed surroundings. I and my partner thought this was the PLACE to be at and be seen – fresh in every aspect – and best amongst the many I have known in the area be it new, traditional, trendy, and classy!
It is place that really, we could not fault despite some negative reviews – for we just loved the place and every monent of it - its friendly staff, well thought décor design of tables and settings, the fireplaces, the traditional bar and the beautifully crafted menu that is surely you will fall in love with. We recommend it highly for travellers in the area and the locals alike – special thank you go for chef Seb and his professional team in the kitchen and of course the friendly bar staff - George, Jack, Liam and Yasmin for a great warm friendly service and whom we got to know quite well. Kudos...

When it comes to food, Halt & Pull serves up delicious pub grub that is both tasty and affordable. Their menu features classic favorites like burgers, wings, and fries, as well as more sophisticated options. The portions are generous, and the food is always fresh and flavorful.
The service at Halt & Pull is friendly and attentive, with staff members who are knowledgeable about the menu and always willing to offer recommendations or advice. Would like to mention Jasmine in particular. The wait times for food and drinks are generally reasonable, even during busy times, and the staff goes out of their way to make sure that customers are happy and satisfied.
Overall, Halt & Pull is a fantastic choice for anyone looking for a laid-back, comfortable pub experience. Whether you're in the mood for a casual drink after work or a full meal with friends, this pub is sure to exceed your expectations. Highly...
Read moreBit weird as I see a lot of good reviews but our experience had been far from positive.
We visited the restaurant on a Sunday at lunchtime and were surprised to see a place almost empty. The waiter told us on arrival that the roast was not available due to shortage of food. But we needed to eat, so we stayed. I chose the wild mushroom ravioli and after a long wait, got served with burnt pasta and the mushrooms were burnt dry sticks. Probably dehydrated ones badly cooked. After dinner, my 2year old needed the loos so I entered the hotel lobby where the disabled toilets were indicated. As I opened the door, I got sent back by a very rude security man. We ended up in a tiny (dirty) cubicle in the women’s bathroom and held my child above the toilets in a space for just only one person to be. Needless to say it was not a good experience for either of us. On top of it, we received today a parking fine! I wished it was a bit clearer (I guess we’re not used to pay a restaurant car park) or to be told about it by the staff who were nice btw.
Again, we may have come on an unusual day/situation but I would absolutely not...
