They treated us terribly over a simple misunderstanding that was THEIR FAULT! A very close family friend bought us a meal voucher here as a Christmas present to my family. She lives far away & so Khushboo sent her a photo of the receipt which she passed onto me so that I could redeem the meal.
We tried to order a take away in January (instead of eating in). Our order for 4 people came to half the meal value but we were told we HAD to spend the full amount in one go, and so we reluctantly spent the whole lot of food & drink which was a waste but it was late, we'd just finished work, we were hungry & just wanted food.
20 mins later and without warning the 'manager' Amin arrived at my door & told me they were NOT sending our order. I showed him the photo of receipt but he said he needed 'MORE EVIDENCE'?! He told me they issue vouchers & because I didn't have a voucher I wasn't getting my order. I explained that my friend lived miles away & that they didn't send a voucher to her. All he said before walking away is 'get your friend to call me'.
Now I not only had to sort out dinner (again) but I had the very awkward job of calling my friend to let her know these bunch of nonprofessionals had her money but weren't prepared to fulfil my order. When my friend first called the restaurant she was accused of 'scamming' them & told 'take her scam elsewhere'!
However they eventually realised that it was the owner who had taken my friends money but he was not working the night we placed our order & apparently no one else knew of the arrangement. He was very apologetic to my friend & urged us to go back to the restaurant which I declined because we'd already gone elsewhere for our food and I wasn't prepared to forget the way they had treated us. Its a shame Amin wasn't as quick to knock back on my door to offer a BIG apology as we are new to area and maybe I would have felt a bit better receiving a direct apology. Having completed ouur main course and diishes removex we were then ignored for 25 minutes. We were not offered the customary hot towels, desert menu or coffee. Eventually we managed to attract the attention of a waiter and asked for the bill which did not arrive. The table next to us was cleared and to our amazement their hot towels and desert menus placed on our table whilst theris was cleared. Some 15 minutes later we grabbed another waiter and complained. Read moreI have been using the KB for nearly 3 decades but after a recent visit and a take away last night I will not be using them anymore.
When I attended the restaurant it was a shambles food over the floor and a very unpleasant atmosphere, we had to sit and wait for nearly and hour for our food, whilst we watched numerous take away orders depart. We did not feel valued as we sat and waited for what felt like an eternity.
Last night I ordered a take away and collected it. I was not met with a friendly smile or any kind gestures, it was off putting. The food was not good either, cold and hard.
