Holmesdale Fish Bar — Restaurant in Reigate and Banstead

Unfortunately we had a very poor experience with Holmesdale Fish Bar today. We chose the Fish Bar because it was advertised as being open from 11am and had good reviews. We tried calling to make an order for a group of 12 from 11.30 and the phone wasn't answered. We went to the physical location around noon and left our order which was confirmed twice for delivery at 12.30 TODAY. We asked if we could collect and were told that they would rather deliver. At 12.30 there was no sign of food. When we called to follow up we were told that they had misunderstood and thought the order was for tomorrow. We waited an extra 30 minutes for our order which then arrived minus one item (one person's meal). We followed this up and waited a further 30 minutes for that order. We were compensated with a bottle of coke (no one in our group drinks coke). This was an opportunity to provide good service and a product to 10 local people all of whom could be future customers. Tucked away by the Reigate railway crossing, popped in for a quarter pound cheese burger and chips, will give a honest review, the chips were OK rated 3 out of 5, the burger seemed to use poor-quality meat, I mean I have had worse and I certainly have had better, burger rated 2 out of 5. I rang up to check when the food will arrive and was first asked why, then when I said it was late I was told “so what”. Whoever this was said he was the OWNER of this business and I should learn some respect for people who cook my food. This is so unprofessional and whoever this guy was made me feel very angry at the treatment I was getting. People like this should not work or answer the phone to customers. I hope I get a reply from the actual owner. Will never buy food from again, it tasted stale like it was...
