If i could put less stars i would. We were meant to book Jaiho for our wedding reception. We went for taster, the food was ok, but the manager Suresh is his name, was abrupt from the beginning. He was kind of pushing us to choose whatever he wanted. Bear in mind the price was 30 pounds per head, with unlimited food as he said. However me and my partner agreed to book it and after a month we went back to discuss further and give deposit. Suresh was very very rude towards us and arrogant, he was telling us what to do, and try to make us feel bad bc we are not going to have that many guests. He was keep saying that he cannot commit to us, as our party wont have that many people. He also said that if our guests are less after giving the deposit, HE WONT GIVE US BACK THE MONEY. Really?????? He was pushing us to leave early from the restaurant on the day. Also, he changed the story of the food being unlimited. Generally he wasnt accommodative at all. At the end my partner had an argument with him, and Suresh turn his back and left. Really is that how you treat to people? Basically 30 pounds is a complete rip off, and to get this treatment. And now i am thinking about it the food that he was ''proposing'' for the party doesnt cost anything to him, and thats why hes proposing it.. Thanks god we didnt give any money at the end.. I wouldnt recommend Jaiho, completely rip off.. Suresh is a greedy, arrogant and rude guy.. Give your money to people who appreciate and the respect their customers. DO...
Read moreCollected take away from the restaurant, when opened at home found the Chicken Tikka not cooked throughly with at least two of three pieces raw in middle. I had asked for the Chicken Bhuna to be mild, it appears that all they did was put cream in it. I rang and spoke to the the manager/owner, found him unusually rude and abrupt. I said that I would be returning all the food and wished for a refund. On my arrival at the the restaurant, I was met with hostility, the first thing he said was ‘what’s your problem’ which I found extremely rude. Initially all he was willing to do was refund me for the Chicken Tikka, once he looked through the bag and saw that most had not been opened and I explained that I would be contacting Environment Health, he refunded the full amount. At no time was there an apology, he actually accused me of wanting free food. I am appalled at the the low level of customer service, we have used the place previously and have no issues. I completely understand that mishaps take place, however there should be acknowledgement and understanding of the inconvenience caused. There was absolutely none from the manager. I would not recommend due to the absolutely poor attitude of...
Read moreFood tasty and well presented but not top shelf. Demerits: not only were the poppadoms not fresh, hot and tasty but they tasted EXACTLY like the ones I get from Aldi... They're £1 and there's an undisclosed £3.50 for the chutneys. So 2 Aldi (I guess they might have been Sharwoods) poppadoms cost £5.50. This is not okay. The biryani was quite good and well presented with a chapati over the bowl but, instead of the usual vegetable curry you might expect, it came with a smallish bowl of mild curry sauce and another of riata. Getting what I'm sure were bulk, shop bought poppadoms was all the more surprising when my garlic naan was excellent and fresh out of the tandoor. Nice restaurant (and only 10 minutes walk from the Hilton, 5 from the Marriott) and good ambiance. Set your expectations to a middle setting and avoid the poppadoms and it should be a good meal out. Frankly I don't usually order poppadoms and would have rated it 4+ but for this negative experience.
It's also a "fusion" restaurant so they do some Chinese style dishes and most of the staff are locals (not a criticism at all), Indian owned and run so I figured that was a better bet but I'm sure the Chinese dishes...
