La Parranda Restaurant and Cocktail Bar Reigate — Restaurant in Reigate and Banstead

Eaten at this restaurant a few times and thoroughly enjoyed it. Ordered through Deliveroo this evening for a little celebratory dinner with my partner, and boy did these guys let themselves down.

Of the 4 dishes that we ordered, 3 arrived damaged. The Pad Thai was so stuffed with noodles, that the lid couldn’t shut. The Panang lid had come off in transit and so we were passed a delivery bag of soup. The lid for the Salt & Pepper squid had a crack right across the middle.

The first reaction of the staff - blame the Deliveroo driver. Really?!? I wasn’t looking to apportion blame - we just called to get a new meal delivered because this one was floating around in a plastic bag and that’s simply not good enough.

Perhaps the phone and kitchen staff hate the management, because way it was delivered and the telephone manner, suggest a sabotage. They dismissed our first call. Required second call back. They agreed to do us another meal, so long as we brought everything back (even though we’ve already sent 6 Crystal clear photos of the bag in the sink). Now this joker, wants us to drive a bag of chicken liquid, back to his restaurant?!? Is he completely mad?!

So I’m now two glasses of wine in to my celebration evening, being asked to drive a bag of spilt dinner back to the restaurant!! Jokers.

Now that I’m stabbing through the Pad Thai while I write this, there’s 1 prawn in that overflowing mess. Properly cheaper out. Really angry with Regional Thai. Seriously let...

Thai Taste restaurant is on the main high street - there is 30 min free parking outside on the street and then it's free from 6.30 onwards. There is also a car park just a few minutes walk away.

The entrance is via an alleyway and the dining area is upstairs once inside. It feels somewhat discrete.

The decor is nice and what you'd expect from a Thai restaurant. We went as a group with a few kids and they were very accommodating.

All the dishes we had were very good. I was slightly disappointed by the Salt and Pepper squid, the batter didn't have enough flavour. We also had a papaya salad which wasn't on the menu and that was made extra spicy 🔥. It was great!!

The mains were all fantastic - we had the Penang style curry, garlic chicken stir fried, lamb shank massaman, basil chicken - all of it great. The chicken the garlic chicken could have tasted fresher but the flavouring spot on.

My partner and I went to reigate to find a nice restaurant/bar as we are having a late engagement party and are new to the area. This was the main contender as it have a great vibe and looks amazing. To test out the place we decided to have coffee/tea there. The amazing waiter came down and looked so annoyed like we had interrupted his day, plainly telling us, there's a few coffee places but '' guess you can have one here'. Wow. We planned on having 20 people here for dinner and drinks but we won't, not after that level of disregard. Wonder if the owners are aware or even care? ItsI such a shame since the feel of the place was amazing. Maybe if there was more staff training on how to deal with customers it would one of the must go places.
