It was a dull Thursday morning whilst on the phone to my fiance I mentioned “It has been a while since our last date night”, she agreed with this comment and I suggested Yaprak in Reigate because I had been in there whilst doing deliveries and it looked like a good establishment to spend my money. we both agreed to the restaurant and I made the reservation. The day arrived of the reservation far sooner than I expected but excited none the less. On the day I mentioned to my fiance I am very excited to go and spend some notes with King Charles face on it. I had a gotten a haircut to surprise my finance as she had been moaning about the long length and the werewolf look I had been rocking and in preparation for the date. I had also fasted that day because I am currently on an intermittent fasting dieting to lose weight. I entered the restaurant and I was greeted with a warm welcome and the waitress showed us our table. The waiter took our drinks order very quickly but that rest of the time the waiters kept walking past without acknowledging our table with no food, until the guy with a blazer came and made us feel welcome by turning on the lamp which had sat unlit next to us, this allowed other people to see our beautiful faces. He took our food order and we waited over hour our food to arrive. The portion sizes were not what I had expected because from my previous trips to Turkish restaurants the portion were always generous, this time that was not the case. The chicken and lamb shish were okay at best and and the crème brûlée was good but it should had been a bit colder and not so runny. Overall my experience at the restaurant was terrible and not what I had expected, from the over a hour delay in the food to the portion sizes. I will not be going...
Read moreWe booked a table for 2 on a Friday evening. When we walked in we was seated at a table right by the door. I asked to move to a different table and we were moved. No hello or introduction from our waiter. Was given menus and then waited a further 15-20 mins before anyone took our drink order. 2 minutes later someone else came over to take our drink order even though we already had ordered, it felt very disorganised. Once we ordered our food our starters came out very quickly. We ordered Halloumi and Turkish sausage. It was 1 thin slice of Halloumi cut in half and one tiny sausage in half. We ordered bread and Hummus and this was the best part. After this starters were cleared away someone brung over our chips ( which were undercooked). we had ordered the chips as a side with our meal and they arrived 10 minutes before the actual mains arrived. The mains were tasteless and the lamb was very fatty. The side salad bowls were very cold and it tasted like a shop bought ready salad, we thought these had been made up earlier in the day. Throughout the meal no one asked us if we were enjoying our food or if we wanted another drink. We waited another 15/20 minutes for our mains to be cleared away. The prices in this restaurant are very high, which we wouldn’t mind paying if the food and service was good. We asked for the service charge to be taken off, our waiter asked was there anything wrong with the service to which I replied yes it was not the best, no further questions or gestures offered, just took the payment and that was it. Will definitely not be coming back and will avoid at all costs! This building seems to have a curse with restaurants as no one...
Read moreI went with my parents, siblings, sister in law, niece, and nephew.
Firstly, the staff were disorganized and cold. The restaurant was semi-empty, so there wasn’t really any reason for the staff to behave that way.
Secondly, we asked for a smaller glass for my niece and nephew so we could split their juice. They reluctantly brought a taller glass, poured the juice, and spilled it. They didn’t bother to clean it up."
Thirdly, I understand that life is hard right now and that people are dealing with personal challenges. However, the service from two of the waiters was horrible. Only one of them, who I believe might have been the manager, was extremely nice.
Fourthly, my niece forgot her water bottle that had her name customised on it. My brother called, and they claimed they didn’t see it. Did they really search, or did they just not bother? ( Need I mention my brother went back there and they lied about seeing the water bottle), and were extremely rude too. Such an utter shame and disgrace to throw a kids water bottle, shouldn’t you atleast keep it for a couple of days, to see if the owners would be back.
Fifth and final point, the waiter brought the food while talking over it, which means my sea bass was likely sprayed with saliva.
Overall, I won’t be going back there, nor would I recommend the restaurant to anyone. The service was horrible, and there was a judgmental attitude from most of the staff. The only consolation was that the food was decent, but what’s the point if the service...
