I use this restaurant a lot, at least monthly, for take-away for my family. This is Horley, and this is a 'traditional' relatively inexpensive classic British Indian restaurant serving inexpensive Anglo-Indian food. If you are expecting fare of the standard in Benares or The Cinnamon Club you won't get it as we have no restaurants in Horley that have a Michelin star, any more than we have a handful of restaurants that have a single AA rosette. What you do get is value for money and reasonable consistency. I own a small YumAsia rice-cooker that allows me to bulk out a £25 take-away so that it feeds three people for two days - that works out at about £3 per substantial meal per person, less than a price of a coffee from any of the coffee shops in town. It is less expensive than a sandwich from Waitrose and the restaurant is underrated because people's expectations are out of kilter with the price point of the offering. The staff are polite and efficient, and I will continue to use their services for as long as it...
Read moreI should've read the signs!!! I placed an order over the phone and was told they didn't have any peshwari nan? I then asked for Saag Bhaji and they said they didn't do one? So anyway I ordered a garlic naan instead along with the rest of my order. Then it all went down hill. I was told 45 mind for delivery it ended up 1hr and 15mins!!! Finally get the food, get the garlic naan out and its a SUPERMARKET ONE!!! I kid you not, It was the same teardrop shape as the super market, it had the sprinkles of herb over it, whereas a REAL FRESH COOKED ONE has actual pieces of garlic in it and lastly it was crusty in places round the edge like they get in the microwave. My wife and I just had to laugh about it. So then onto the Dansak, which is known AND described on their menu as "Cooked with lentils". I can guarantee you this dansak had never seen a lentil, it was literally a madras sauce. In summary, if you fancy a curry, your within 15mins drive of Tesco, go and buy one from there and save yourself 15 quid. Or try...

Balti house didn't get of to a good start, we ordered 2 glasses of coke and what we got was flat diet coke. Not refreshing at all. Then we was charged £3 for 2 poppadoms, which seemed ridiculous as all the curry houses I've ever been to give these away complimentary before starters. When we wanted to order starters most of which is cooked in tandor was told the "its not on as we've just opened." At the end of the meal i spoke to the manager who told me they were open since 12:00 and it was now 16:00. When asking the waiter about the dishes he didn't know what went in them. I ordered a lamb karahi which was quite nice. The manager was friendly and informative. The rest of our experience wasn't good and will not go here again. I'd say avoid it completely, better restaurants...
