The Chapel — Restaurant in Reigate and Banstead

Came here for the Cannolis as they seem to be very highly rated - and was a bit underwhelmed!

To start with - they're not 'traditional' Cannolis as they do not have Ricotta or cream in them, the fillings of hazelnut/pistachio etc were fine. The shells themselves were very dry and stale even by the time I purchased them at ~11.30am on a Saturday morning.

I attempted to go earlier in the day to purchase, but there was a queue of people and it's not very obvious where the queue is or isn't, and where to queue for a table or where to queue for a takeaway option (as i was doing). There also seemed to be a bit of a breakdown in communication with the staff amongst themselves on multiple occasions that I witnessed while there, I think a bit more organisation is needed here to help improve the service.

A bit more organisation and signage is required - there were some lovely looking donuts on the side but with a) nothing to indicate what flavour they were b) nothing to indicate price and c) no clear place to queue to ask staff questions a or b, I didn't risk a purchase, and purchased my donuts elsewhere that day.

Absolutely the best place to go for a healthy breakfast and/or lunch. Everything is made to perfection - this place takes pride in providing food and drinks made with the best and freshest of ingredients. Their salad option is second to none - everyday a new option, but their standard green leaf salad is made with a lot of love and contains fruit - honestly its like a bowl of summer. The prices are reasonable and you really get a full portion. Salads come with a slice of quiche or stuffed red pepper. You can also have smashed avocado on toast, scrambled egg on toast, vegan options are divine and definitely try their blood orange juice from the fridge - it is delicious!!! Oh and the best thing is - the service. Each staff member is so welcoming. Thank you for being the best independent that Reigate has to offer!! There is nowhere else I'd rather go! My food had hair in it today. my husband I went this morning. We had to ask the waitresses to clean our table… discovered the hair called the waitress who to be fair was as appalled as we were. We asked for our money back and I wish we had let the other diners know… as they couldn’t wait to give our money to us and shoo us out of the cafe.. honestly just a grubby experienced. I’m so disappointed.
