We visited here yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it. The bar staff were very friendly and we were served promptly. There were a fair few in and a decent atmosphere was evident. We ordered food and were delighted when it arrived. The presentation was first class! Fish and chips came in a small 'frying basket', a take on the larger ones seen in chippys. Newspaper was also on show, very authentic and clever. We also ordered cheese and onion pie, which along with the chips, was homemade. There was plenty of tasty cheese and the pastry was well cooked. All the food was hot and lovely and tasty. When we were served the food, we were asked if we would like drinks brought to our table - a great touch, most unusual for an English pub.
