I recently had the pleasure of eating at Taylor’s and it was an experience that exceeded all expectations. The staff were welcoming and friendly which made the experience even better.
The food was outstanding, the fish was perfectly cooked—golden, crispy batter on the outside with soft, flaky white fish on the inside. It was clear that everything was prepared fresh, with high-quality ingredients. The chips were thick-cut and fried to perfection. Even the mushy peas, were spot on.

Very pleasantly surprised. Large cod and medium chips was £12.50 as of December '24 which is comparable to mcgits and others. Quality excellent, portion size enough to quiet the tummy gremlins for several hours. Made request for forks and a napkin on my collection order note via their website that they provided without needing to be reminded. Order was ready two minutes after I walked in to collect it. Read moreThe worst fish and chips that I’ve ever eaten! I say eaten but I only actually had about 5 chips and a quarter of the cod. I would have brought it back to get a refund but I was only in Battle for a few hours so didn’t have time. The chips were hard and mostly black so clearly using old mouldy spuds. They also had a nasty taste of oil on them so possibly from the day before. The fish was full of bones and batter was soggy. Disappointing. The only plus point was the service was fast and friendly.
