Wow! Absolutely perfect! Had an evening meal here for my birthday and it did not disappoint. Smoked mackerel pate for starters was delicious followed by the steak which was beautifully cooked, loved the choice of a rosti instead of chips- yum! Thankfully, I still had room for the brownie which was of course, also a winner. My husband felt the same about his meal too- smoked salmon, steak and banoffee pie! Having recently moved to Battle we are so pleased to have found a really decent restaurant. This is our second visit to Sweet Olive and once again very yummy food with lots of choices and excellent service. Probably the worst meal I’ve had in years. The restaurant is soulless, the serving staff uninterested and the food overpriced and poorly cooked. From greasy samosa to moussaka swimming in grease it was a very disappointing experience. The only reason for not complaining at the time is I would not have wanted to wait for replacement food or to be invited back.
