We were extremely disappointed with our experience here. The young woman behind the counter was shockingly rude and aggressive, raising her voice at us during what should have been a calm midday service. It was very unsettling to be spoken to like that as paying customers. We had cycled from London in the heat and, while sitting outside, removed our jerseys to cool off. We hadn’t noticed the “no shirt, no service” sign, but once it was pointed out, we immediately put our shirts back on. Despite this, the staff member refused to serve us, shouting that she didn’t care and telling us to leave. Her tone was unnecessarily hostile and humiliating — even nearby customers commented on how inappropriate her behaviour was. Unfortunately, the overall experience left a sour taste. I don’t know what had happened to this place over the last year! There was a time it was our go to place for a Coffee and some breakfast but now it really is dreadful. Twice now we’ve waited 25 minutes for a Bacon Roll and when it arrived it has to be the worst culinary experience ever! Their talent for absolutely cremating Bacon is unmatched, I love crispy bacon but this makes cardboard seem succulent! Couple that with a semi-stale over toasted roll and you basically have a food source that may have been excavated by Time-team and can only be identified by carbon dating! It’s only when you get it you realise why it took 25 minutes and conclude it’s been fired in a blast furnace for the duration. Such a shame as it’s beautifully positioned but given the poor service, miserable staff and dreadful food it’ll be a no from us...

2 cups of tea and a piece of cake £9! No prices displayed but I didn't expect it to be so much!. The cake was thrown carelessly into a paper carton where part of it spilled over the edge and I had to rescue it myself from breaking and falling onto the counter. The girl serving really had no customer service skills whatsoever. No service with a smile and just told me they were closing in 15 minutes. The 3 girls behind the counter obviously couldn't wait to get home and it seemed such an inconvenience that customers should come in and delay them. Such a shame this place has changed hands and lost the charm of the mismatched vintage cups and saucers. No feeling here at all. Cake tasted reasonable, hence...
