Bollywood Restaurant — Restaurant in Rotherham

This review is based on a single visit.

First impressions were fantastic, lovely decor, poilte and well dressed server. Greeted immediately on entering and made to feel welcome. The door is slightly broken - it doesn't close properly.

Straight away noticing there is no wheelchair access to the upstairs, which is the dining area. Dining area is mostly booths with some chairs, all themed and very well presented. Atmosphere enhanced by the music and smell of incense and spices.

After being seated the booth seats are slightly to high for someone as short as me, wasn't entirely comfortable but didn't really pull away from the good experience so far.

Food and drink options are in the plenty. Being vegetarian I was pleasantly surprised to see a Bhindi Karahi as an option (See pictured, alongside pilau rice and peshawari naan.)

Food was a little disappointing, it was rather salty. However I have to say I'm impressed at the reaction to my comments. They were really receptive to feedback and it all seemed well received. The server was so friendly and honestly one of the best kind of people for the role - had good conversations and made the evening well received despite the issues.

I'd still recommend this place, and I intend to visit again. Hoping to enjoy the food a little...

I dont normally leave long reviews but this place definitely is a very rare gem in the middle of Rotherham, Wickersley in South Yorkshire.

I was taken here for my birthday with a group of friends and family.

I must say this is by far the best food I have tasted in South Yorkshire and I would definitely say its better than MOST of the restaurants you would normally eat at.

Bear in mind I have heard they have changed owners a few years back...

Well I have only started going here just over 1 year ago since my Birthday and can say that this new manager definitely knows how to brighten your evening and put a smile on your face.

His staff are well kind and funny too..

Plesde don't just take my word for it, call these guys up and book yourself a table. Turn up there and enjoy the amazing fresh food that is so mouthwatering and divine...

The food honestly is so flavourful which will make you feel wonderful and wanting more.

Once you've tried their food you'll be going back every week, trust me because I do lol.

Just back from a Birthday meal with my wife and family a group of 4. We arrived in for our 7pm table and had starters at 8pm so quite a delay by a large group who left after 45 mins. Main was delivered within 15 mins which was fine. Food was good but the staff had booked in a minibus of people who were very drunk and very loud. No attempt was made by the management to quieten them down and the booth behind us left within 10 mins and went next door. We paid , left early & complained to the management who seemed oblivious to the problem. A very disappointing evening and I can’t say we will be back . Reception was full of couples looking for tables and waiting . Why oh why would you book in a large group that are hard to control when you can fill the place with couples. It truly was an appalling example of how to run a restaurant and given the circumstances and the fact we noted our early exit and bad experience we were charged full price which I think tells you everything you need to know about how Bollywood value their customers.
