Original post.... Not sure if I got extremely lucky or if this place is that good with its beautifully cooked dishes. I could have sat and tried them all if my belly would have allowed. The chef/s must be a magician for the little stamp on each dish and is great that we have him/them in our area churning out this level of a dining experience. Usually I would have thought I had to go London for this sort of cuisine, but no, I can get it in little old Wickersley. All that staff are really friendly, helpful, welcoming, chatty, professional and most of all constantly smiling. We all hate being at work sometimes, but these staff never show it and go above and beyond to accommodate all. This reflects on the establishment in a massive positive way and will draw customers back again and again. Don't get me wrong the place can be a little pricey if you want to sample the cocktails, so will not suit everybody's budget. I will be back in the immediate future to see if I was lucky or if this place is as good as I experienced.
Edit... Went back around 5:30pm and got a totally different experience. Came to the conclusion that this restaurant just concentrates on the night time revellers that are there to part with money on expensive drinks. I came this time with my young family and the place was empty. The staff couldn't wait to get us out the door quick enough. Rushing us at every opportunity, no thank yous or please. They even decided to bring bill before I had even finished eating my pudding or even asked for a coffee. I have never experienced this in any restaurant in Europe before, so it became apparent they wanted us gone because it was now approaching 6:30pm and the wine drinkers had started to arrive. After £100 on 2 small children and 2 adults, drinking pop with food, I will not be returning ever again. I expect a much better experience than something on par with a market cafe. Don't be put off yourself if it is date night and you will be on wine or cocktails, but if you are a family be put off by the service but...

We attempted a visit to the Gaslamp Brasserie & Bar on the 3rd March.
We thought that we had successfully booked a table for four to eat at 8pm. Something we were very much looking forward too after the previous 2 years of lockdown and isolation.
We were greeted to be told that weād inadvertently booked a table on the terrace usually saved for ādrinksā only.
Having gone through journey on the website myself later it was very difficult to differentiate between whether you were booking a table to eat or drink.
But, weāre all human and mistakes can happen. The fault lied with us, not the restaurant and fair is fair.
However as a regular diner, I have never experienced such poor and dismissive customer service which was lacking any form of emotional intelligence.
It was absolutely dire.
Whilst our party attempted to find a compromise we were offered absolutely no steering from the host at all, who at the first sign of us feeling unhappy said āthereās nothing we can doā then went to get her manager.
The manager then spent five minutes using the most patronising tone of voice referring to my wife and the other female in the party as ādarlingā 8 times (I counted) dismissing our point of view and offering no empathy at all.
The restaurant was busy and the food looked exceptional which only added to the disappointment to what hoped of being a lovely evening.
Itās worth noting that our party members have reached out to the restaurant directly via DM on their socials and are yet to receive a reply even though itās...
Ā Ā Ā Read more3 stars as it depends which staff are working on the night. Our last experience wasnāt to standard at all⦠cold burger which was sent back, reminded they needed the table back when we had arrived⦠continued to tell us another three times. Mussel starter was lovely but the waitress forgot to bring the bowls for the shells. The bill was brought when we didnāt ask for it which felt as if they were trying to hurry us along. Asked the same waitress if the magician was popping in as he tends to every Thursday and she forgot to ask so had to remind her. Complimentary beer was given to my friend to apologise for the awful service with no time to drink it. My husband and I were embarrassed as we brought our business partners to the venue as we had told them it was great and it didnāt meet our expectation at all. The staff who were present were young and unexperienced⦠seemed very disinterested and lacked simple people skills for example a young girl who worked there smiled at us and then rolled her eyes as she walked away. We had wanted to go for Sunday lunch and decided against it due to the experience we had. I would only now visit if the manager/supervisor with red hair and glasses was working as he is simply brilliant and cannot do more for the guests. Big shame as the food was great but the service from the...
