Morrisons Cafe — Restaurant in Rotherham

There were not many recent reviews, so I thought to myself, "It can't be that bad".

Walked in on Tuesday morning in February- it did not look busy but could be behind the scenes. We decided to have breakfast before shopping as we were pretty early and I was hungry.

Ordered fish and chips as well as a chicken burger with sweet potato fries meals and waited.

After half h, lady comes and says they are out of sweet potato fries -that's fine, normal can do.

Then, after another 15 minutes they say that they cannot do them as their fryer is out. Asks if it's okay if battered fish can be steamed/boiled due to that. We decide to change both meals to chicken burgers with normal fries. Sorry cant do as the are out of chicken burgers- but that was not told it 15 minutes earlier even when one meals was with chicken burger.

At this moment, we were there for over 40 minutes just hearing how stuff was out and just decided to cancel it all and buy a meal deal, as who knows what they had and how long it would take to cook it all.

And fryer started working while we were cancelling order,they could do battered fish now but itll take some time to heat it up. Still no burger for me.

It would be great if there was notice what they are out for the day either at counter/ordering screens as it would...

Firstly the screens where you sef order weren't working, so had to go to the till. There was nobody on it, but on saying "excuse me" to a member of staff, we were, rudely told to wait a minute, as she was busy. Ordered food for two people, a roast dinner and a bacon sandwich. One meal was brought out, the roast dinner, minus the Yorkshire pudding, but not the bacon sandwich. Had to ask for the Yorkshire puddings, and then wait for them. They arrived, but still no sandwich. Asked about the sandwich, which was brought out, but had likely been sat somewhere, as it was cold. There were hardly any staff on, the food was really disappointing, which is a shame, as it used to be a treat to come here for a meal. I would not...

Ordered 2 ultimate breakfasts and 2 pots of tea.

Requested both breakfasts without black pudding and swap toast for the fried bread on 1 of them, food arrive with black pudding on both and the server seemed put out that we would not accept them, but they were remade correctly.

Was charged for the swapped toast as was not swapped but requested as extra.

Took a few minutes of looking to find 2 clean cups, I dont mean just a little stained, but most looked like they had been used and just placed back without being washed.

Luckily I always carry wipes as from the tray, table and the cutlery everything had to be wiped.

Hash browns were very greasy but apart from that the food was nice although...
