Greek Zante Street — Restaurant in Rugby

The place is really clean and food is abundant, the three stars are because of the amount of salt that is in everything. I could not finish the mixed kebab because of the enormous amount of salt which was in the dish…. I started to eat the pork skewers instead but it was the same story… very disappointing since the meats and vegetables are really top quality and cooked to perfection with crispy outside and soft fragrant insides, ruining them in this way is a sacrilege. Finally fries are also on another level but again ruined by excessive salt. At the beginning I thought that the salt would be balanced by the tzatziki but not even a gallon of the stuff would be enough here. Had my first experience with Greek Zante Street in Rugby tonight and it will certainly not be our last. We ordered online and paid on collection, i arrived early by 10 mind and it was ready in 2, service from behind the counter was great, and as you could see into the kitchen i even clocked one of the guys rejecting some meat that was over cooked (always a good sign of someone taking/showing passion and pride in quality) we had the pork gyros, authentic kebab pitta and pork panseta portion, each dish was beautiful, packed with flavour, hot and a good portion size, we also had an additional portion of fries and it all came to just over £23 which we thought was VERY reasonable! I've never been to Greece, and have never eaten Greek food. However, if this is what Greek food tastes like, then I know where my next holiday will be. I didn't think it'd live up to the amazing reviews, but it was incredible. We had the mixed grill for 2, and the amount of food was spot on. The sausage was incredible, one of the best I've ever tasted. The kebab was amazing. But the gyro meat was so much better than any I've ever tasted.
