The Bank — Restaurant in Rugby

The Bank, usually a reasonable lunch spot for the work crowd we’ve often been, received timely service and have come away as happy folk. Today’s visit unfortunately left us with a sour taste when it comes to value for money. It seems tougher trading conditions have manifested in a strategy that sees prices remaining static but portion sizes being significantly reduced. My chicken finger wrap costing £7.25 had one pathetic chicken finger in it, along with some lettuce mayo and lots of air....yippee... My colleagues Cajun chicken melt seemed to have half the usual quantity of chicken in it! Whilst these cuts may help short term cash management, it’s probably not good for the long term. Take heed!: if you are a large party, BE AWARE they dont have enough "pans for fajitas" lol. Had higher hopes for this place but unfortunately I can't get over the fact that I had to wait an hour for food last night. The reason is they'd "ran out of plates". When I questioned that they knew how many of us were going (booking for about 25 ppl) he said "well we've ran out of pans for cooking actually". The infuriating thing is that staff were literally hiding in the kitchen not giving us an update (or hand washing pans, I dont know) which is so rude imo. I came in yesterday with my mum for an early birthday meal for her, it was her choice to come here, so I decided to treat her. We were impressed with the decor, and what an amazing bar display! We sat down and had a look through the menu, I decided to break my streak for Veganuary as it's mums birthday treat so I had the hunters chicken which was delicious, and mum had a steak with a diane sauce which she enjoyed. The price for the whole meal and 2 drinks wasn't too bad either. We both wondered what it was like to come on an evening as the atmosphere at lunchtime wasn't busy, so we may be coming here again soon for an evening meal.
