Cannot believe most of these reviews on the restaurant side of this eatery. Have been here twice for breakfast and they were reasonable but a bit expensive. Decided to go early evening for the restaurant food after reading the reviews. Maybe we went on a bad day but we were very disappointed especially as we brought my wife's parents with us for a meal. Ordered two homemade lasagna, one homemade spaghetti bolognese and a smoked salmon pasta. Dishes we thought should be pretty good from an Italian restaurant. Bolognese was bland and a very small portion. The lasagna was so hot it was actually bubbling. It looked like it had just come out of a microwave. When it cooled down enough to eat there was so much cheese it was like a congealed mess. The salmon pasta was a slice of smoked salmon chopped up on a handful of penne pasta and a huge plate of salad that was mainly lettuce covered in dressing. No sauce whatever so a very disappointing "pasta" indeed. Price was expensive for the portion sizes and was definitely not restaurant quality. Capucino wasn't great either. Very small cup, too hot and tasted weak. So won't be going back, not even for breakfast. An expensive cafe but not...

When asked what we wanted to drink. We were offered water which we said yes too but it was a jug of warm water in which we had to get ice for.

Ordered a fillet steak burger, asked how I would like it cooked. I said rare to medium which she told the chef, then the waitress came back and said it is only cooked his way. When I asked what way it was, he said he couldn't share as it was his secret.

A friend got a haloumi burger which was warm not hot.

We spoke to the waitress numerous times which we know she reported back to the chef. After asking a few times to speak to him, he finally came out and said what is your problem in quite an arrogant way and blamed it on the waitress as he said she hadn't been there long. Today we went in to ask if my 9 year old daughter could use the toilet (obviously she really needed to go otherwise we would of waited until we got home). The Lady replied with 'its for customers only". First of all we are customers and order for collection all the time, I was completly taken back by her response as she is only a child. Secondly my daughter has just done a 4 day stint on QMC due to a kidney infection, my point being you never know what people are going through! Thirdly we all know how horrible it is when you need the toilet and cant get to one! Finally what happened to being kind especially to children.
