Weekday lunch. Place was pretty empty, but the host was very friendly and inviting. Happy to discuss the menu and reccomend. Food took a little while to come out, however the chap was by himself and clearly cooking everything fresh, well worth the wait. Prices very reasonable, and food variety was much different to other local cafes. French cuisine is appreciated when it is so scarce. Hot chocolates made with real chocolate flakes and steamed milk. There is plenty of deli stock also, with a wife range of chutneys, alcohol, chocolates etc perfect for gifts, or for elevating a home meal. Will 100% return.

This tiny place was a very nice surprise, very cosy little French themed café with a surprisingly big menu for such a small place. The food a drinks were great and to think it was all prepared in such a small space makes it even more impressive! The service was absolutely fantastic and the owner was very sociable and great to chat to. Definitely worth checking out - if you can get a table!

Sitting outside in the sun was like being on holiday. Lovely friendly service and the homemade jam was the best.

As Tier 3 restrictions meant we couldn't go to Rose and May, Rose and May came to us! I emailed my order through and got a call back straight away to confirm and take payment. Ian delivered the food at the time he said and gave comprehensive heating instructions for both oven and microwave. My partner had the pork terrine starter which he said was one of the best he's tasted, then went for the boeuf bourguignon which smelled so delicious I had to pinch a bit. The meat was so tender and the sauce scrumptious. I opted for the chicken breast flambeed in calvados with an apple and cream sauce and loved it. Our sides were dauphinoise potatoes and green beans with garlic - and both were lovely. I will definitely be ordering again. It made for a lovely Tier...

A very personal touch, a charming setting, excellent food at an excellent price, and a very level-headed and fine conversationalist in Ian, the proprietor! I visited at a quiet time of day while on a long February cycle trip, and found a very amenable and flexible café that suggested a menu to suit me rather than restricted my choice or left me guessing. I also got some very useful local knowledge in a heavily-trafficked area, allowing me to continue on the quietest yet most direct local roads. Thank you - many café visits do all that is needed and more, but this one stands out. May you get the continued and contented custom you deserve!...
