The first time we've been into the windmill since the refurbishment and we were expecting good things, as an easy meal out instead of cooking. The music was so loud at the bar it made it very difficult for the lad serving to hear my order - I had to repeat myself 3 times for each part of the order. My friend and I both ordered the lasagne, which when it came looked like one portion had been divided between the 2 of us, 2 inches by 3 inches each - each portion was half the size of a regular one person microwave meal and was burnt and chewy round the edges. The salad took up most of the plate. We both wished we had ordered something else or gone to the Chippy instead! It took a good 45 mins at least for the food to arrive even though the pub was empty and there were at least 5 staff we saw milling around. We expected cheap and cheerful pub grub for an easy tea, what we got was a real let down. I'm sorry to say we were very dissapointed and won't be going back or recommending...
   Read moreI went here not long ago around 3-4pm, the pub was over taken by a group of loud men at the bar, obviously regulars and clearly and loudly passing âbagsâ to one another to the toilets. The landlord was sat at the nearest table to them and seemed not to care. I went to the baby change, it was filthy! I changed my baby on my jumper, and carried it out on a pinch, as I wouldnât have to want my own jumper near us. By a bit of paper on the floor or a bit stinky, I might understand, but it was FILTHY!, I mean pure rotten, sticky and wet floors that stank of urnine. How EHO will pass them, I donât know. If you canât care for your customer toilets on a quiet day, I dread to think the state of the kitchen! And also âfamily friendlyâ luckily my child is too young to notice your druggies. The food is top notch and there's always a warm welcoming atmosphere with a variety of beers on tap and boutique beers, ciders and wines available. The Windmill also has regular pool, darts, disco, karaoke, sports and theme nights with special guest performers and in-house DJ Jason. There is also a great undercover, heated beer garden so it's an all round great place for the family. With plenty of parking available and easy access for wheelchairs, mobility scooters and they are dog friendly even providing treats for your favourite fur baby.
