A family stay at Aviator hotel in Farnborough, Hampshire 🛫🛏️🍴 - [ ] AD Over the weekend we headed to north east Hampshire to enjoy a stay at this luxury hotel overlooking Farnborough airport. Its got 169 rooms and is a rather striking build both inside and out, as I recalled when I filmed it for a work project a few years back, particularly the lobby which is one the more stunning you will see for its photogenic stairwell leading up to reception and open floors. - [ ] The location is famous for its aviation history with a museum just down the road as well as remnants of its past such as the former portable airship hanger we visited nearby too. - [ ] The sky suite we stayed in was perfect for families with its large open plan style, a lounge area with free movies as well as a super king size bed. The most impressive feature for the room was the views and perfect point for plane spotters with wide glass windows overlooking the runway at the airport to watch landings and take offs. Suitable name for the hotel and the decor to suit too. - [ ] They have a range of dining areas to choose from in the hotel from the more casual to fine dining. We enjoyed breakfast in the downstairs brasserie restaurant which also features an outdoor seating area. Loved the movie posters of stars from the golden era and again an elegant sleek look to the place with low hanging lamps over the tables. Highlights at brekkie included smoothies, overnight oats and freshly made waffles for the kids. During our stay we also checked out their brand-new Children’s Menu that has launched this month! - [ ] If you are looking for a special treat spot for a meal or stay either as a couple or family in north Hampshire then this spot fits the bill.   - [ ] 📍Aviator Hotel, Hampshire, GU14 6EL   #aviatorhotel #hampshire #ourhampshire #visithampshire #farnborough #planespotters #planespotteruk

Superb, modern, tastefully decorated hotel with decent-sized, spotlessly clean rooms and well equipped bathrooms. On arrival, we were greeted with a complimentary cocktail whilst checking in, which was a nice touch, and the reception staff were absolutely charming. The hotel is unlike anything we've ever stayed in before and has been designed like the cross section of an aircraft; the central atrium which rises through the entire height of the building represents the aircraft's fuselage whilst the two wings house the hotel rooms. Due to its clever interior design, there are lots of small cosy public areas you can explore and sit, which, although being open, provides the feeling of privacy and intimacy. The rooms are a good size and, again, tastefully decorated. The aviation theme continues in the rooms, but it's just hinted at rather than being 'themed'. Crisp white bathrobes and slippers are provided along with a kettle and complimentary teas and coffees. The bed was super comfortable, but the only thing that let the hotel down were the pillows; they appeared to be quite fluffy but crushed to nothing when you put your head on them. They really were uncomfortable to sleep on, and I woke up in the morning with an aching, stiff neck. In the morning, there was a great selection of hot and cold breakfast foods available, which tasted great. Once again, the service at breakfast time was very efficient, friendly, and polite. Overall, I'd definitely stay here again if I'm in the area; it's a lovely hotel with free car parking too. Next time, though, I'd definitely take my own pillows.

I recently stayed at the Aviator Hampshire Hotel and now totally understand why it has such a high rating on TripAdvisor. Honestly, whatever I say probably won’t do it full justice - the service, the facilities and the setting were all absolutely spot on.||I was there for a Meetings and Events Showcase hosted by the hotel, and from the moment I arrived, everything just ran smoothly. Check-in was quick and easy, and I was in my room in no time. The room itself was spotless, the temperature was just right, and there was even a cupcake waiting for me - such a lovely touch! I know other hotels do this kind of thing too, but for some reason, it just felt extra special here.||The evening dinner was fantastic, and the entertainment really added to the experience. It was one of those nights where everything just felt well put together and enjoyable. And the best part? Knowing I didn’t have to travel anywhere afterwards. My room was right there, cosy and well-equipped, exactly what you’d hope for in a luxury hotel.||On top of that, when I returned to the room after dinner, a surprise goodie bag was waiting for me, which was such a lovely touch. Inside was a mini bottle of champagne, a hand wash and body cream - the same ones they have in the rooms, which you can actually buy at reception. But they gifted them to us, which I thought was really generous. There were also some gummies (which my son, who came with me, polished off straight away!), along with some peanuts and other little treats. It genuinely felt like they’d thought about the small details to make the stay feel that bit more personal!||What really impressed me, though, was the consistency of the excellent service throughout the hotel. Every single staff member was professional, polite and helpful without ever being over the top. ||A very special shout-out to the breakfast team in the Brasserie on Saturday morning, especially to Ginevra and the lovely waitress who served me, but I have forgotten her name! I had a bit of a mishap with my oat milk latte and managed to spill it, but the way the team handled it was amazing. They were so quick and efficient in cleaning everything up, and not once did they make me feel awkward or embarrassed about it. They even replaced my coffee straight away, all with genuine care and kindness. This has really stuck with me - it summed up the level of service at the Aviator and honestly put the icing on the cake for my entire stay. You could tell there’s a high standard of training behind the scenes because everyone had the same friendly yet respectful approach. It made the whole experience feel very natural and comfortable.||I’d 100% recommend this hotel to anyone, whether you’re staying for business, leisure or an event. I’d definitely go back, and I’m already thinking about it as an option for a future work event.||Thanks so much to the Aviator team - I had a...

Update : -2 stars : If you were unfortunate enough to stay on the first floor and you are a light sleeper, you will not get a lot of sleep, especially if you’re in the vicinity of room 122 - clanging and banging goes on all night and they seem to empty bottles and bins right outside your room.

I would also suggest if you’re staying on the first or second floor there will be a bar and a nightclub that will probably keep you up till the early hours of the morning, I regularly seem to get problems with rooms facing the runway side of the hotel - these quite ironically are the rooms you pay more money for but get a low quality sleep.

I have also found the last couple of times the food has been very average and the menu rarely changes, Interestingly, you can quite easily stay at the Village Hotel for half the price and the food is miles better

I stay at this hotel every four weeks and have done for many years, The hotel is in a fantastic location just at the back of The runway for farnborough airport, but fear not light sleepers I’ve never known a plane land after 9 PM, The planes that land are also Learjet last not commercial airlines If that doesn’t put your mind to ease the fact that the rooms are soundproofed and insulated will, I have never heard any outside noise in my hotel room ever The hotel is immaculate from the moment you walk in with the one-of-a-kind staircase and circular lobby, The staff over with friendly employee nothing is too much trouble for them, I also like the fact that this hotel is not excessively bright it’s quite a contemporary themed lighting hotel The rooms are absolutely amazing whether you have a standard room or a sky suite, however if you get a suite you get a bath, if you done you will end up with a rain for shower

This hotel also uses proper coffee and not that freeze dried rubbish, many rooms get good quality coffee and a cafeteria in the room.

The beds are very comfortable, I find the bed it’s not too firm or not to soft they’re just about right.

The car park always has spaces and there is ample car parking for free, except when large events are on and you’re well notified beforehand.

You won’t get a better hotel in Farnborough or the surrounding area depending on the floor you’re put on - if you seem to book on a pre-reserve rate they seem to reserve those for the rooms with the most...

VERY DISAPPOINTED - I booked 2 nights to stay in the Air Side Sky Suite for my girlfriends birthday via telephone direct to the hotel and paid. Instructions were not followed when requested to display a happy birthday message, petals on the bed and candles, which was an additional payment. I did not receive a confirmation email when booking, after 48 hours I chased this up and finally received it.

Upon arrival I was very frustrated as their was no decorations. It made this feel like a normal hotel experience. The receptionist then had phoned me later on in the evening of arrival, asking when I would like the room decorated. I had to say for the next day even though it was promised for arrival.

The next day we had returned from a day out and still the instructions which had been clarified the night before were still not followed, however house keeping had visited?!

I phoned reception again and spoke to Alice, who did not appear to be sincere and did not care the hotel had failed us again. She did mention she could send someone up from house keeping now, as you could imagine my partner could already hear me talking to reception, so this was pointless.

The room service we had ordered that night was oily and greasy and not worth what we paid. (Please take a look at the pictures yourself.)

Further to add when we were packing to leave, we done a final inspection to make sure nothing had been left behind, however on our findings I had discovered a massive urine stain on the mattress, which I had been sleeping on for the past two nights. This clearly had not been attended to by your house keeping before we arrived! This has disgusted me! (Photo attached.)

Upon checking out we had expressed our feelings to the receptionist, again seemed to have no form of compassion and not phased.

We then had been issued our bill, this amount to pay gave me doubts why it had totalled up to so much. We then asked to see the invoice before payment, to only realise they had not updated that all extra charges had been paid via telephone when originally booked. Also gratitude had been added via staff members without consulting us.

This whole experience has shadowed our memories and made it quite an unenjoyable stay. I would...
