After many years living in Farnborough and hearing good things about this restaurant I decided to have an evening out with the good lady! Service: Service was terribly slow and all I kept hearing is ‘we are so busy tonight’, the restaurant was at less than 50% capacity. One of the staff, tried really hard to make things better but he was clearly not respected by his manager and was very apologetic about the service. This individual I rate 10/10. Takeaways seem to take priority over visiting guests and all the manager and another staff were interested in was counting the money the delivery guys bought back (hopefully they washed their hands after handling cash but this I didn’t see) Food: Apart from the Prawn puree we had for starter the food was average to poor. The chicken was chewy, the salmon lacked flavour and the saag was awful. The Manager: Clearly a very proud confident man. He was walking around the restaurant saying to other tables “was the food worth the wait”, putting them in an awkward position it felt! He asked me about the food and I said, ‘it was ok” - he really did not like this comment and asked again, I repeated - he was not interested in knowing why the food was only ok and left the table clearly with a bee in his bonnet. The bill was brought very quickly to our table with me asking for it, my partner actually wanted a dessert but they were not interested - she made a good point, “we should have ordered a takeaway and ate inside, we’d have got it sooner”
All in all if you’re going to part with £85 of your hard earned money there are so many better...
Read moreIt’s one of those places that charges you for ordering water, unless you explicitly ask for tap. I think that tells you a lot about this restaurant. I feel like i paid more for the theatrics than the food itself. They brought us Papar at the start, which a lot of Indian restaurants do but we didn’t know until we got the bill that they charged us for it. They also brought way more than we asked for which we were on the bill for of course. They gave the females of our group roses at the end which was nice I guess but seems like quite a backwards practice. Can’t really fault them for being slow with the times though when their service is as slow as it was. The atmosphere was also very loud for a restaurant. There were two groups that were making a lot of noise while many others were trying to enjoy a nice dinner but the staff did nothing. It felt like a pub more than a restaurant. The food is average at best. It’s Indian food, but lacks a real flavour profile. The butter chicken was weirdly sweet and the seekh kebabs tasted more like falafel than anything else. There’s a good reason the restaurant right next door, Gurkha, is always busier. It’s much much better for a much more...
Read moreI recently dined with my family at Paprika, an Indian restaurant, and I must say it was an absolute delight! The highlight of my meal was definitely the Chicken Jalfrezi which was cooked to perfection - tender and juicy chicken pieces in a flavourful sauce with the right balance of spices. The portion size was generous and it was served piping hot which added to the experience.
Apart from the delicious food, the service was impeccable. The staff were attentive, friendly and went out of their way to make sure we had a great dining experience. The ambiance of the restaurant was lovely too, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that added to the overall experience.
I highly recommend Paprika to anyone looking for an authentic Indian dining experience. The Chicken Jalfrezi alone is worth the visit! I give this restaurant a 5-star rating for their amazing food, excellent service, and...
