A family stay at Aviator hotel in Farnborough, Hampshire 🛫🛏️🍴 - [ ] AD Over the weekend we headed to north east Hampshire to enjoy a stay at this luxury hotel overlooking Farnborough airport. Its got 169 rooms and is a rather striking build both inside and out, as I recalled when I filmed it for a work project a few years back, particularly the lobby which is one the more stunning you will see for its photogenic stairwell leading up to reception and open floors. - [ ] The location is famous for its aviation history with a museum just down the road as well as remnants of its past such as the former portable airship hanger we visited nearby too. - [ ] The sky suite we stayed in was perfect for families with its large open plan style, a lounge area with free movies as well as a super king size bed. The most impressive feature for the room was the views and perfect point for plane spotters with wide glass windows overlooking the runway at the airport to watch landings and take offs. Suitable name for the hotel and the decor to suit too. - [ ] They have a range of dining areas to choose from in the hotel from the more casual to fine dining. We enjoyed breakfast in the downstairs brasserie restaurant which also features an outdoor seating area. Loved the movie posters of stars from the golden era and again an elegant sleek look to the place with low hanging lamps over the tables. Highlights at brekkie included smoothies, overnight oats and freshly made waffles for the kids. During our stay we also checked out their brand-new Children’s Menu that has launched this month! - [ ] If you are looking for a special treat spot for a meal or stay either as a couple or family in north Hampshire then this spot fits the bill. - [ ] 📍Aviator Hotel, Hampshire, GU14 6EL #aviatorhotel #hampshire #ourhampshire #visithampshire #farnborough #planespotters #planespotteruk

Superb, modern, tastefully decorated hotel with decent-sized, spotlessly clean rooms and well equipped bathrooms. On arrival, we were greeted with a complimentary cocktail whilst checking in, which was a nice touch, and the reception staff were absolutely charming. The hotel is unlike anything we've ever stayed in before and has been designed like the cross section of an aircraft; the central atrium which rises through the entire height of the building represents the aircraft's fuselage whilst the two wings house the hotel rooms. Due to its clever interior design, there are lots of small cosy public areas you can explore and sit, which, although being open, provides the feeling of privacy and intimacy. The rooms are a good size and, again, tastefully decorated. The aviation theme continues in the rooms, but it's just hinted at rather than being 'themed'. Crisp white bathrobes and slippers are provided along with a kettle and complimentary teas and coffees. The bed was super comfortable, but the only thing that let the hotel down were the pillows; they appeared to be quite fluffy but crushed to nothing when you put your head on them. They really were uncomfortable to sleep on, and I woke up in the morning with an aching, stiff neck. In the morning, there was a great selection of hot and cold breakfast foods available, which tasted great. Once again, the service at breakfast time was very efficient, friendly, and polite. Overall, I'd definitely stay here again if I'm in the area; it's a lovely hotel with free car parking too. Next time, though, I'd definitely take my own pillows.

Plenty of parking, although if you're disabled it's quite a walk to reception. Reception is on the first floor but you're met at the entrance by a concierge and helped all the way through check-in and up to your room - a nice touch. The hotel itself was clean, quiet and comfortable. We paid a supplement for a room with a view over Farnborough Airport (Mrs. U. is a big aeroplane geek and loved the views and watching the planes take off and land). That scored me some brownie points ;-) The room was a good size and everything we needed was there. The hotel has an overarching aeronautical theme and it's the attention to detail which is quite impressive. For example, the lifts (elevators for our American cousins) have an LCD screen set into an old aeroplane window surround showing a cloud image scrolling by to give the impression that you are in flight. Everything is given a 1950s/1960s golden age of flight theme which works well. The food was on a par for a hotel of this class but nothing special. I felt it was a little pricey but that's standard for hotel food. There were a couple of little things that went wrong - a room not being cleaned, a mix up in the restaurant, for example - but these were quickly rectified by the staff and nothing was too much trouble for them. They turned a 3 star review into a 4 star review. They were always helpful, attentive and polite: a positive asset to the hotel. They shouldn't have happened but things go wrong and it's how they are dealt with that makes the difference and I was very pleased overall. Would we stay there again - definitely!

We booked afternoon tea at this hotel due to its fantastic vegetarian selection. We booked in for 2.30 and were welcome at reception and direct to the sky bar. The lady who greeted us, Adele was our server for the afternoon. Firstly I have to say this has got to be some of the best service we have ever received, she was attentive and not over bearing, sat down with us for 15 minutes to talk through the entire tea selection and highlight which teas pair well with the food. She was incredibly passionate and very easy to talk to. The tea was great, it’s clear they have sourced it from a fantastic location which only uses the best ingredients to produce fantastic blends. Tea was unlimited but there was an extra charge for some of their more complex and unusual blends, we tried one and it tasted fantastic! The sandwiches were great, well presented and used great ingredients, there were more than enough especially considering there were 2 extra plates also prepared in the kitchen. The scones were huge! Very tasty and not dry at all, served with fresh cream and fresh jam, they didn’t spare on anything. The desserts were probably the only downfall, some were nice but their attempt at a vegan brownie was a little disappointing. The macaron was great and so was their profiterole tower. Overall I can’t fault the experience, definitely one of the most comprehensive tea afternoons I have had and it was definitely topped off with fantastic service from Adele!

Where can I start, I am so disappointed I couldn't find anything to complain about, my wife and myself are so fussy and we were unable to find one thing to pick on or complain about, staff are unbelievably polite, helpful, joy to talk to and very friendly, you feel you are talking to your best friend, I can't say anything about the room, you need to go so you can experience what is the meaning of the word comfortable, facilty, shower, view, everything extra perfect, breakfast generous quality of food, dinner, cocktails, view of the sunset while private jets taking of and landing, I can keep on and on and never stop complementing every one, Mark, Chloe, Pratik, Jenny, what a fantastic team, lively smiles and friendly, made me feel relaxed and happy, Adel and her variaty of tea experience, unusual and new thing to learn about Tea, Izzi on the reception, great welcoming, consierge and his welcoming and handling our laguages straight ti our room, sorry if a have forgotten more staff and names. worth every penny and they deserve every penny. will come back again and again, this is a 5*****+ hotel not 4****
