If you have nothing planned for your day, are starving and fancy experiencing what the longest wait for food in the world looks like .. go here .. the food is good jury's out on whether it's worth the wait.. its not bad, is very fresh but you may end up HANGRY .. We waited outside for ages then waited ages to be served, the Nepalese guys who came in after us were served before us so may need to befriend some Nepalese people in order to get served quicker. Running out of mangos to make mango lassi I could understand but running out of šŸŒ.. not so much šŸ™ƒ ohh and my boyfriend finished both his plates of food before I even got mine so it was basically a meal for one. Lol

Recommended by my partner’s mum. Food: Serving was definitely for a group and not per individual. We got pork chow mien, chicken curry and vegetable momo. Surprised that the server did not mentioned that their serving is massive when we said 2 pork chow mien. We could’ve saved food and order less. We ended up with a full table that can actually serve probably 10 people, I guess. Food tastes good though. Prices were really cheap and reasonable! Service: Not bad but not the most responsive as well I guess this is a family owned restaurant?? Maybe would come back next time but not definitely soon.

Became little late for the review. Yesterday we went Aldershot to visit from London and we dined in the Nepali restaurant ā€˜NANGLO’ . The food was really amazing. We ate Aalo paratha which was so delicious. I can say that the paratha was best in the whole UK. The thukpa was also amazing . Love the momo as well . We were served by the amazing brother and sister. Thanks for your great hospitality. It was my first time in the restaurant and I really enjoyed. ā€œTake a bowā€šŸ™ŒšŸ™‡ā€ā™€ļøšŸ«” to the owner for the amazing Nepalese restaurant . We will be back soon . Thank you ā¤ļøšŸ™Œ

I recently dined at Nanglo Restaurant, and I must say, it was an extraordinary experience that truly exceeded my expectations. From the moment I stepped in, the warm and inviting ambiance set the perfect tone for what would be a memorable meal.

The menu offers an impressive variety of dishes, each showcasing the authentic flavors of Nepalese and Asian cuisine. I was particularly impressed with the Mo:Mo dumplings—perfectly steamed with a flavorful filling that was simply divine. The Thakali set was another highlight, offering a balanced and satisfying combination of lentils, curry, and perfectly cooked rice that transported me straight to the heart of Nepal.

What really stood out was the attention to detail and the freshness of the ingredients. Every dish was meticulously prepared and beautifully presented, demonstrating the chef’s passion for quality and authenticity. The spice levels were spot on, and the flavors were well-rounded, making every bite an absolute delight.

The service was top-notch as well. The staff were incredibly attentive, knowledgeable, and eager to make recommendations, which added to the overall experience. Their genuine hospitality made me feel like a valued guest rather than just another customer.

Nanglo is not just a place to eat—it's a place to savor the rich culinary traditions of Nepal. Whether you're looking for a cozy spot for a casual meal or a place to celebrate a special occasion, Nanglo offers an experience that is both unique and unforgettable. I can’t recommend it highly enough and will definitely be returning to explore more of their menu.

Conclusion: If you are looking for authentic, flavorful, and meticulously prepared Nepalese cuisine, Nanglo Restaurant is a must-visit. The ambiance, service, and food are all exceptional, making it one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time.

I have never written a food review, but this visit urged me to write one.

This is completely a non biased review which might contradict with others, it is obvious.

I have worked in hospitality business nearly for the last 15 years and a food enthusiast.

I had visited this restaurant years back but wasn't keen about it. In these years I have visited several Nepalese restaurants but this one definitely ticks most of my boxes.

I will tell you the reason why?

This restaurant is definitely not a instragramble or social media freak but touches your palate and appetite. The prices are kept reasonable with generous portions.

The foods are made to order, handmade momos takes 20 minutes to be served and comes piping hot . Lassi are not made in bulk and momos are not semi cooked for busy times.

Talking about their noodles and fry rice items, they are suberb. I definitely know east Asian cooking loves MSG, Yum Yum and Aginomoto but their infusions of soya sauces with sesame seeds oil gives that taste of restaurants in Nepal. The colour of noodles and the crispy fried meat that mixes, while you chew the noodles, takes you back the alleyway of Nepal.

Chef beings an owner too, I think the quality is been maintained through out these years.

I always say to the restaurant owners, you need to sell through your pitching regarding your quality and ingredients. Like what grade of meat you serve. I have heard people saying they use poor chicken which they call "plastic chicken" and etc..

Lastly, this is simple but very important to notice, where quality is preserved is, they use tomotoes not canned tomatoes for achar.

But I think you won't be...

Don't come here if you're hungry since you're going to be kept waiting. We ordered dahi puri and aloo paratha as starters, and chicken curry with two chapatis as the main. The dahi puri arrived and drinks arrived within 10 mins which is fine. The solitary aloo paratha came 25 mins after which is not fine. What about the mains? Well that came a whole 60 mins after we had ordered and that's abysmal timing. At about the half hour mark, we asked the waiter when our food's coming but he didn't come back to our table with any response. Yes, the portion sizes were good and the food was nice, but was it worth the wait? Not at all. Never coming back here again purely for the long wait and the lack of communication/apology...
