I have been going in here for 4 years as I live in the complex it's connected to and taken no small number of people there too.
Today I left a non 5 star review on google, basically the coffee shop has one booth, and it's anoyingly often already taken BEFORE it's actually opened to the public. The only other 2 tables are wobbly so if you move you end up spilling your coffee, and the other seating is round the side with your back facing out so everyone can see your screen which is not ideal. I have raised the issue before and it seemed to get ignored by the in house staff so though id leave a review.
the owner didn't like me leaving this review so the manager asked for my numbers so the owner could talk to me.
I expected, and was happy to, have a civil constructive conversation and would have been happy to amend it pending that.
However, he called me and VERY aggressively shouted down the phone at me, didn't let me speak, he said 'this is not a co working space, its a coffee shop, it's not a place to work', and then just said, ' how dare you leave a bad review, now go get your stuff, get out of my coffee shop and don't come back' I hadn't even finished my coffee!
its importent to note most of the people who go in there in the daytime hours are on laptops working, but again apparenty, that's not allowed.
I dont respond well to deliberate intimidation and today was an eye opener for myself and I dare say many of the other residents...
Read moreI visited the cafe for a sit-in oat milk cappuccino and the Cult breakfast with a bagel. When I was called for my order, the coffee was packed in a takeaway cup, despite my request for a sit-in order. The friendly barista promptly made me a fresh cappuccino, which I appreciated. The coffee was well-balanced and the cleanliness of the machine was apparent, as there was no unpleasant aftertaste.
However, when the breakfast order arrived, it was incorrectly served as a wrap rather than the requested dish. While I opted not to waste the food, the presentation was not in line with my order. I would suggest the staff focus on accurately taking and fulfilling customer orders to ensure a consistently positive dining experience.
The wrap itself was of fair quality, with a home-cooked taste. However, the combination of textures was lacking, as the sausage and bacon were not as crisp as expected. Slightly longer cooking time for the meats and additional seasoning may help to enhance the overall flavor profile.
Overall, the cafe has a nice ambiance, with ample space and electrical outlets for laptop users. While the experience was mixed, I may consider returning, but with the hope that the service and attention to detail will...
Read moreWe stumbled across this hidden gem after watching my boyfriend run the Manchester Half Marathon, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of the day. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was amazing, relaxed, welcoming, and full of good energy. The music was perfect for the time of day and really set the mood for us!
The food was absolutely incredible, beautifully presented, full of flavour, and clearly made with care. The cocktails were just as impressive! Their spicy watermelon marg was one of the best I’ve tasted in a long time!
The owners couldn’t have been more accommodating, as well as the lovely staff working through a very clearly busy day! They made us feel right at home and took the time to chat and make sure we had everything we needed. It’s rare to find a place that gets everything so right!
We’ll definitely be returning soon! Manchester needs...
