High hopes dashed. In a house of 4 vegans and a vegetarian we thought we would try Veggie Hut. We all enjoy our pizzas and eat out often. We ordered a Vegan Veggie Hot (family £8.49), a Vegan Meat Feast (family £9.99). Veggie Hot (Medium £4.99), Vegan Chilli Chicken Burger (£3.75) and two large fries (£4.00). We ordered the food from the undertaker at the counter and sat down after being told it would be 20 minutes. After about 5 mins of something niggling me I realised that the visa receipt just did not tally. I was charged £36.22 however the items came to £31.22. I queried this at the counter and was told by a young lady that the extra £5.00 was for vegan cheese. I told her that there is no mention of this charge on the menu or the walls. She simply answered "he should of told you" and walked off. Her tone was as I was disturbing her with silly questions. We were hungry and in a hurry so I let it go hoping the food was worth it - as they say 'you get what you pay for'. We received our food and went home. Unfortunately when we got home the looks of disappointment on my boys faces was very apparent. The Meat Feast was flat as opposed to thin crust, with a very scarce amounts of cheese and even scarcer amounts of fake meat. It really looked like they counted the pieces out one by one per slice. Eating it was not enjoyable. The base itself stuck to your teath. It was seemed dry as did the fake meat. Cheese was flavourless.
The Vegan Vege pizza was only slightly better. The vegetables were again much more scarce than you would expect, sliced way too thin with the cheese being very slimy. The base however was a little better than the Meat Feast, but it still also stuck to our teeth. On the normal Vege pizza their was again a lack of Vegetables. This time my son stated it was more mushroom and jalepeno than anything else. There were patches of pizza missing cheese. None of the expected stringiness you get with normal pizza cheese.
The burger was a sad looking thing. Bun, Patti, slice of lettuce, ring of sauce slice of jalepeno. Bland of flavour and leaving my youngest very dissatisfied and cheated. The fries were nothing to sing about. Portion size was on the small side for a £2.00 portion.
All the pizzas were way too salty.
Verdict after discussing this with the family - Never will we go to Veggie Hut again.
We do love our pizza but Veggie Hut does not compare at all to Mr Singh's (West Brom, Wolverhampton, Handsworth) or Veggie Supreme (Wolverhampton) who are in a different league and don't charge extra for vegan options. At Veggie Hut you do not get the food you would expect for the prices...
Read moreI honestly don’t know where to begin on this company. I don’t know how they’re still open mainly due to the fact that they are rude and give off the impression that they don’t care about their customers at all.
I’ve had numerous problems and give this company chance after chance as I really like their food and love having so many vegan options. But their service is terrible. Last time I ordered it took 3 hours to deliver. In this time the company first lied and said they’d rang to cancel (they hadn’t) and also offered no discount despite being 3 hours late and the food being cold and us having to go outside round the block to find the driver as he ‘couldn’t find the location’ (yet the same driver has delivered to us before?). There wasn’t even an apology which to be honest was the worst bit. They just don’t seem bothered in the slightest.
I now decided to give them another chance and I rang up asking for delivery and they just said ‘no’ And then gave me a different excuse each time I asked as to why. I just don’t understand how you can run a business and treat people so poorly? Whenever Veggie Hut mess up they take no responsibility and just don’t seem to care. If you can’t do something explain why and apologise. You really need to step up your game because your service is the worst I’ve ever...
Read moreHorrible service. I received my order and it was wrong, so called to speak to them. After a 6/7 minute conversation between the guy on the phone and the guy who had made my food - i was then told that the Lamb soya pitta i had ordered was the only one that does not come with salad and fries - convenient. I then said that their menu does not say this and confirmed that it says all pitta, naan and wraps come with fries and salad - the guy again repeated that the lamb one doesnt. When i said that it would have been good to know that when i called to order - he laughed and said 'yh'! It was clearly a mistake on their behalf whether the order was made wrong or their menu is wrong. When i asked whether they would be willing to correct it or offer me a complimentary pitta when i ordered next - i was told that i need to call back and speak to the owner who will be in tomorrow. I asked for the shift manager in charge - i was told there was no manager - i then asked who is the person in charge at the moment - for him to then say, there is no one in charge! Really Really disappointing. I wasnt being awkward, just wanted acknowledgement of what i was saying. (also there was cheese inside the lamb soya pitta - which again was not stated in the menu and i dont...
