Went on a Thursday evening to the Red cow. Thought the worst as there was 1 table occupied by diners. How wrong we were! We went for the ‘fat cow’ chilli chips, masala chips, lollipop chicken, chilli lollipops and 3 naans. We asked for the chips and naans to be upgraded on the fat cow as it only comes with plain but it was lost in translation so we got 3 plain naans and 2 chips additional to what we wanted. The fat cow grill itself was sensational. Lamb chops - great taste, perfect amount of charring. All the chicken was juicy and full of flavour. Fish pakora - nice light batter, lots of meaty fish. The chilli chips were unreal, so so good! Definitely recommend them with the chilli lollipops. Certainly no scrimping on the portions! The only slight criticism is the grill wasn’t sizzling when it came out but it was on a oven tray as it was so big! It says on the menu it serves 8-10, there was 5 of us and we were all stuffed. Would definitely go back, be great to go when it’s busy. One of the best mixed grills we’ve all had, up there with Champys, new hen and chickens etc. Update… we went back for our Xmas mixy, again quiet inside in the dining area but the mixy was first class. Had the £42 fat cow again. Was 6 of us, with 2 cobras to top it off we were all stuffed. The chilli chips and chilli lollipop are a must. Chips are battered and covered in chilli sauce…. Unbeatable! Football was on prime too! Thanks red cow for rounding off this year with a class mixy!

My first time at this place. It is a traditional style pub with pool tables and a dart board. They even serve a pint of mild. The staff are friendly. Get a pint, sit down, look at the menu and order your food. There is a very good selection on the Menu. The Mixed Grill came in 5 sizes. We had a Red Cow mixed grill, Chicken Balti, Lamb Kadai, Lamb Keema with Aloo. Sides were Pilau Rice, Naan, Roti and Chips. The mixed grill is one of the best I've tasted in a long time. Nothing on the platter was charred black like you would find in some desi pubs. The the meat was tender and flavourful. The curries were on par with most places except for the Lamb Keema with Aloo where it was very salty. We brought this to their attention and was quickly resolved. The prices were reasonable. Good value for money. I also ordered 2 Butter Chickens and 2 Naans to take home for the kids. Normally most places serve the Butter Chicken as mild, but this one had a bit of a kick to it. It was still very tasty, but unfortunately one of the kids couldn't handle the heat. This is a mental note for me in the future. The question is...Would we return? Yes... Especially for the mixed grill.

Full time - 9/10 On arrival we were welcomed by a large selection of beers and ciders to which it took a while to decide what refreshment i wanted. I chose a Cobra @ £3,30 Went and sat down with around 5 televisions in crucial locations to be able to see the Europa League final. Having looked at the menu myself and co-attendee chose a ‘Red Cow’ to share alongside two garlic cheese naans with a side of chips which totalled £21. Food was brought to the table within 15 minutes and was piping hot - all the foods was delicious and even ate the fish pakoras which is slightly out the ordinary for myself. Garlic and cheese Naan was again sublime but unfortunately due to the amount on the ‘red cow’ I left a slice and a few chips. Would even recommend this to my ex as this establishment was thoroughly enjoyed - only downside was the distance to travel but you have got to speculate to accumulate.

Food was absolutely terrible. Worst mixed grill I have ever had. Ordered a baby cow mixed grill, and the Meat tasted reheated from days before and was still pink inside. The lamb kebab was rock solid. The chilli chips came cold with no taste of potato as it was fried to misery, with no sauce on, just a red batter, thats tasted like it was made the day before. No difference between the normal chips. Cheese naan, came with virtually no cheese in. Dissapointed paying more for essentially a plain naan. Would have been better off going to soho tavern, or the grove, where the food tastes miles better. Ordered a coke, and recieved a diet pepsi, with no word from the bartender that he had changed my order.. Cheese naan, came with virtually no cheese in.
