Andy's Golden Fry — Restaurant in Scotland

Mid afternoon on a Monday. Ordered large fish and chips in store. Prices seemed very decent. Was told up front there would be an undefined wait but don't know if it was because I specifically asked for Haddock. Delicious with perfect light batter and the chips were excellent. Everything piping hot. Walked to the nearby waterfront and sat and ate there. The area to stand while ordering is a tiny narrow strip with no seats for waiting and no space to pass someone without bumping them. I didn't even know there was dining seating at the rear. Unless you're eating in, I don't think you would want to be there was long, so ordering online or over the phone and picking up would be the best option. I saw a delivery go out and a pickup order come through while waiting. Another order of pizza was also served etremely fast so wait times could depend on what you order. Two and a half hours for delivery Cold food Lies to cover their own backsides

Called after an hour and a half to be told they were waiting for me to call back, as the driver came to my door but I didn’t answer. So we wait again, one more hour. The driver says the same thing “I knocked your door”

All lies, my window looks out to the front door and my anxious dog goes nuts if anyone comes near the door never mind knocks it.

Through all the delays and the lies, still no apology. Just trying to shift the blame onto myself and to top it off, the food was cold. Though I’m not surprised when it’s been two and a half hours. I would’ve called back about the food, but I could’ve ate a jobby at this point.

Hands down the worst service...

In my opinion one of the better fish and chip shops in the area. Clean and well laid out with a small area at the front of the shop for take away and a sit in area at the rear. Plenty of staff on duty at the time of my visit. A small council operated car park at the rear and more parking adjacent to the river. Wheelchair accessible. I had a takeaway so I have no comment to make on the facilities in the dining part. Staff efficient and friendly. Fairly quick service for items that already had been cooked. A short wait for special orders whilst they were cooked. The food was hot and tasty with good portions at...
