Cafe @ Number 16 — Restaurant in Scotland

We popped in for the first time for lunch as our puppy was at the groomers and so so glad we did. I opted for the soup which was broccoli and cheddar with a beautiful side bread and my daughter had the soup and sandwich combo which again was the broccoli and cheddar soup with a ham and cheese sandwich plus a side of beautiful fresh salad and dressing. Accompanied with a deluxe hot chocolate, a fresh apple juice and finished off with their delicious old school cake. Cannot recommend highly enough all the stuff and the food was quite literally 5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟. We will definitely be back. Arrived 1.05 met by a member of staff she showed us out table, ordered coffee & scone for 2 , served @1.15 coffee was served in a large mug and our scones were lovely and fresh very enjoyable @arround 1.25 we were enjoying our coffee when a member of staff approached our table and politely asked us to hurry and finish as the table was booked for 1.30 .she then put a reserved sign on the table as we were leaving 2 gentlemen arrive and sat down . The place was busy but that is no excuse they should have refused admission at the beginning to save embarrassment....

Have visited on various occasions with and without my kids. Really nice menu and menu for kids aswell(happy to make a tuna sandwich) to my little girls liking I have to say though the service was hit or miss. Slow service, and similar to a previous poster lots of 'gossiping' instead of being attentive to customers. That being said I'll definitely continue to pop in. My little boy is at playgroup near by so I'll be popping in...
