We booked a table of 7 at 6.30pm this weekend. We were sat upstairs where there was 2 children's parties ? The noise was just awful, we couldn't hear a thing at our table due to screaming kids (not blaming the kids / it was their party but not acceptable to sit 7 adults next to it) I asked at 7pm when the party would wind down and was told 'hopefully soon" it finally wound down at 7.30pm?? We spent best part of an hour trying to hear each other with not much luck ? The place was like a bomb site /food on floor /burst balloons/cake mashed into the floor! It was chaos. I wouldn't have been surprised if Mini Mouse had arrived with face paints for the Kids ?? !!! The service thereafter was worse. The food was well below average. Waited 20 mins for water on the table despite asking 3 times, no cutlery replaced after the starter therefore main meal served with nothing to eat it with and was nearly cold by the time we did get cutlery. Calamari was served as chunks of deep fried squid in breadcrumbs? Just awful and clearly not fresh and from the frozen bag ?? My sister-in-Law is gluten intolerant therefore ordered from Gluten Free menu. Overnight she became unwell due to eating something with Gluten in it from the Gluten Free menu ?? 24 hours later she is still unwell. ? Still a bit shocked how bad the experience...

I was eagerly anticipating my visit to this establishment after receiving several recommendations. However, I must express my disappointment with both the food and service during my recent experience. Despite the bustling atmosphere of the shop, I believe this should not compromise the quality of the food served. Unfortunately, the pasta lacked moisture, and the pizzas, which we had anticipated enjoying warm, were served cold. This was further compounded by a considerable wait of 35 minutes for our pickup order. Additionally, there seemed to be a palpable tension among the staff, whose interactions were marked by discord rather than teamwork. Given the premium price of £75.00, the quality of the food did not meet the expectations set by such a cost. Regrettably, based on this experience, I find it difficult to recommend this restaurant. This was my first time patronizing this business, and I had hoped for a better introduction. It is with a heavy heart that I say I will not...

This is the second time I came to this restaurant. First I went with a friend for a lunch, the waiter who served us was so nice and helpful. Can’t remember her name but she was from Cyprus if I’m not wrong. Food was delicious and that’s why I returned today to bring my partner over for dinner. Service was disgraceful, the waiter, a young lassie with dark hair, was serving us in huffy manor! Never asked us if we were ok, if the food was good etc. When my partner’s pasta arrived she never offered any Parmesan to be served with and gave us my pizza saying “I guess you are going to share this”, totally inappropriate. We noticed she was coming all the time to check the table behind us and asked the guy seated by the table and even asked if he wanted the Parmesan or more drinks. We felt discriminated with her attitude specially she was doing a good service on the other tables and totally...

Very cosy and homely restaurant in Musselburgh that is close to 5 ⭐️ The highs of Caprice: ♨️ warm and welcoming staff, super friendly and homely. 5 ⭐️ service 🇮🇹 great atmosphere The areas that could be better: 🍝 I've been a few times, sometimes the food is great but sometimes it's not as good. The food is a bit inconsistent, but the food is never bad. 🍨 The biggest reason for the 4 ⭐️ review was the tiramisu. Tiramisu is my favourite dessert, but the Caprice version with a chocolate finger and sprinkles doesn't work for me 🌧 Overall, this was more of a 4.5 experience and was so close to 5, but an improved tiramisu and consistency, then this is surely a 5 ⭐️ experience. Keep up the friendly environment and the homely feel!! Worth a visit 🇮🇹

Staying nearby and found this place whilst passing through Musselburgh. Very glad we stopped to try this authentic Italian takeaway / restaurant. Pizza was very tasty, base itself was light and fluffy, toppings were of good quality. Pasta was excellent - the meatballs just melt in the mouth. They were able to accommodate with gluten free pasta which is a bonus as not many places can do this. Price was very reasonable and good value for money. Customer service is great, very quick to respond to questions via social media prior to ordering. Good setup as there’s a separate entrance to collect orders. Highly recommend, will definitely order again when next in the area! Would rate higher than 5 stars if I could!!

My daughter booked us a table for 5.30pm to celebrate my birthday on Thursday and we had a table at the front of the restaurant where my 7 year old granddaughter could watch things being put into the giant pizza oven to cook. I got a free birthday meal and a birthday card. The service was exemplary, as was the food we ate and the drinks consumed. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone working in the restaurant and I will not hesitate to visit again. The restaurant was fairly busy, maybe as it was the first bank holiday day of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee weekend, or perhaps this is normal for a Thursday evening. I would definitely recommend this as a great place to eat that is reasonably priced.
