Lovely garden, but rated down due to the lack of indication of how completely inaccessible it is to wheelchair users. Looking at the map of the gardens it looks fairly flat with paths and the lower level accessed either by steps or going around to the far end. It isn't, the access to the garden itself is down a step, then two steps, and another step (manageable with assistance) but it's on a slope with access to only part of it and the paths didn't seem to exist as marked. The slope itself is so steep that, going sideways along it, the wheelchair nearly tipped over a couple of times and two other visitors had to help stay it and get us moving the second time. The toilets are upstairs too, so completely unreachable. Getting back out again, one of the single steps was manageable, but with no-one else there, my mother had to get out of her wheelchair and be helped, with difficulty, up the two steps, and the other single step was too steep to get up. Fortunately this could be bypassed by going through a gate into the private driveway. In summary, lovely garden, but if you are in a wheelchair, don't go, it's just...

Car parking is a bit confusing. The sign say park garden wall just not sure where garden wall is so parked across the road. The gardens are well kept With lots of seating places around. The fairy house trail is wonderful and the houses are well made and decorated. When we walked around the trail there is thick bushes and trees and we saw three deers just walking about. The toilet is located in the...

It is a nice little garden. The glasshouse was under development when we were there, so we want to go back when it is done ;) The garden itself has two parts. Close to the building the proper garden and farther away a forest area wich is I guess under development. It will take a couple of years for the trees planted recently to grow, but still the garden worth a visit or two. :)

Beautiful garden maintained by the National Trust for Scotland. Nice for a gentle stroll around. Dog friendly as long as kept on a leash. There were a few areas that were out of bounds to the public due to weather/maintenance but all well sign posted. Larger grassland area on the lowest level. V.small car park at front (3 cars max). Parking is free as is entry if a NTS member.
