Arrr, lend me yer ear, ye landlubbers, for I be tellin’ ye the tale of me perilous voyage to The Cornish Bakery at Gretna Green — aye, that cursed crossroads where lovers flee an’ pastries be plundered! I staggered in from the misty borderlands, me boots caked in mud an’ questionable regrets, seekin’ naught but a flagon of grog an’ a hunk o’ hardtack. But lo! What be this warm haven, smellin’ sweeter than a siren’s song and bakin’ hotter than the devil’s armpit? The lass behind the counter — fairer than a mermaid in moonlight and deadlier with a pastry tong — offered me a steak pasty the size of a cannonball. I bit into it and near wept like a deckhand on rum rations. The crust — golden, flaky treasure! The meat — tenderer than a cabin boy’s feelings! Aye, it danced on me tongue like a drunken shanty. Then came the custard tart, matey. I feared it might be too dainty for a scurvy dog like meself, but nay! ‘Twas smoother than a sea breeze through me beard and sweeter than stolen doubloons. Even the coffee — dark as Davy Jones’ locker — gave me the jolt I needed to plot me next raid (or at least face the motorway traffic). One point docked for the lack of rum, but I s’pose they don’t take kindly to pirates swiggin’ the strong stuff ‘fore noon. Verdict: Five outta five golden doubloons. If ye find yerself near Gretna Green and yer belly be growlin’ like a kraken, steer ye course for The Cornish Bakery. Tell ‘em Cap’n Crumble sent ye — and beware the jelly-filled squalls. Arrr!

Clan was heading north and stopped off at this outlet for a break and thought we would get some snacks and drinks here. What a lovely choice that was!!! Atmosphere was lovely, with these cool little cubbyholes to sit in. Yet had places outside too so you can enjoy the sun. Service was lovely, ladies were a delight to talk to. But the food and drink, shockingly good! I really want expecting it to be THAT good! Everything had tons of flavor! O and the white hot chocolate got passed around to try by all because it was so unique and tasty. All in all a great place to visit. Enjoy. X

First time I've come across the Cornish bakery. It was super busy but the staff were cheerful and friendly. Pasties and coffee were great. The cafe itself was nice however it's a big open room which was so noisy it was difficult to have a conversation. Would go again but would sit outside.

"The Cornish Bakery in Gretna Green Outlet Village is an absolute gem! From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with the most delightful aroma of freshly baked goods, which immediately made my mouth water. The friendly staff members were incredibly welcoming and made me feel right at home.

The bakery offers a wide variety of delicious Cornish pastries, each one more delectable than the last. I couldn't resist trying their traditional Cornish pasty, and I must say, it was a taste sensation! The crust was perfectly flaky, and the filling was hearty and packed with flavor. It truly transported me to the beautiful Cornwall region.

What struck me the most about the Cornish Bakery was their commitment to using high-quality ingredients. Every bite was filled with fresh and tasty ingredients, showcasing their dedication to providing an exceptional culinary experience. The attention to detail was evident in every pastry they offered.

The atmosphere of the bakery was cozy and inviting, making it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a delicious treat. Whether you're looking for a quick snack or a satisfying meal, the Cornish Bakery has something for everyone. Their menu catered to a range of preferences, including vegetarian and vegan options, which I found to be quite impressive.

To top it all off, the prices were incredibly reasonable for the quality and taste they delivered. I left the Cornish Bakery with a happy heart and a full stomach, already planning my next visit. Since moving to the area, the Cornish Bakery in Gretna has quickly become one of my favourite places to visit. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with genuine smiles and friendly conversation, the staff here are absolutely brilliant. They’re always cheerful, attentive, and make you feel welcome every single time. It’s clear they take real pride in their work and in looking after their customers.

The food itself is outstanding. The pastries are hands down the best I’ve had anywhere, perfectly baked, golden, and full of flavour. Whether it’s a classic Cornish pasty, a warm croissant, or one of their sweet treats, everything tastes fresh and made with care. Being able to watch the team bake and prepare everything right there in front of you is a huge plus — it adds to the charm and really shows how much effort goes into every batch.

The atmosphere in the bakery is always relaxed and cosy, perfect for sitting down with a coffee and something warm from the counter. The place is spotless and well-run, and it’s great to see how well the team work together, they really give the place its friendly, local charm.

All in all, I can’t recommend the Cornish Bakery in Gretna enough. It’s a credit to the area, run by a team who clearly care about what they do. Easily five stars every...
