Where do I begin… out for a chilled adventurous walk up the Wallace monument, taking all of it in and paying my respects, which took a lot out of me. After my walk I found a small cafe, and i decided to go in. All I wanted was a nice meal and to try process my experience up the Wallace monument… I wanted to enjoy my own company and not be disturbed. However, little did I know they all sang happy birthday to 3 different people… do they never think of where they’re customers come from? After a tragic and shocking piece of history just a few minutes away from the cafe and they’re playing happy birthday music - Unforgivable. As for the staff - unprofessional, instead of taking my order they were occupied on someone’s birthday cake who had already had their meal.. so in this cafe there seems to be a lack of attention to some particular customers. I think there’s also a lack of thought which is really poor. So I couldn’t stand being in there any longer and i just left..

You don’t go to a restaurant just for food, you go for atmosphere, well the atmosphere in that cafe has to change ASAP - instead of being happy, shouldn’t we honour those who fought for the country. Unfortunately it gets overlooked and people are more interested in cake and celebrations. I would be willing to give this cafe 1 more chance.. but if it doesn’t there will be consequences… BIG...

I don’t normally write reviews but when you have an experience like mine you really want to warn others. Today was a sunny and warm day. My boyfriend and I stopped into Corrieri’s and we’re going to get an ice cream. I asked the manager for a 1/2 litre of vanilla ice cream with raspberry sauce, with the intention to take it home, freeze it and eat it over the next couple days. The man who is meant to be a manager ( Robert ) scoffed at me, and seemed to retort at the fact that I am a heavier girl and “how can I eat all of that ice cream”. I don’t owe anyone an explanation, but upon telling him I’m going to eat it over a couple of days it was far from over. He then kept making jokes such as “how can he even fit raspberry sauce on top so much ice cream” and “how do I expect to put a lid on it. I take one mouthful and then I can already fit the lid on it. It’s these poor dramatics that caused my boyfriend to tell him he needed to watch his tone and that he wasn’t being nice. This is only the second time I’ve been to Corrieris but my boyfriend frequented it as a child. Doesn’t look like we will be back due to the way they treat paying customers. Thanks for that, as if people’s mental health and self esteem isn’t bad enough in this...

Looking at previous opinions seemed much better than in reality: carbonara tasting like baby food (no spices, pasta overdone) and medium warm, lasagna sheets overcooked but nice temperature when served straight from the oven. As it was nearly end of the day, staff was filling condiments between still dining clients, the dishes used for sugar weren't cleaned and still worn signs of previous coffee (spots), waitress was filling bottles with half of ketchup using already opened and partially used other bottles. Not very pleasant impression. But staff, starting from waitresses and ending on the owner, absolutely amazing listening to clients' wishes and flexible. Half portions available. Prices? Acceptable but leaning toward higher side considering quality and amount Atmosphere similar to busy fast food: lack of any Italian climat- one of the many. Despite disappointment I'm going to come back in hope it was just unlackwhen looking how busy the place was during our visit. Must be something therewhat I...

I imagine a good percentage of the business at this cafe comes from tourists hungry after visiting the Wallace monument. That is a category into which I fall, and I am extremely happy I went here. The welcoming Italian charm of this place is palpable, and it made me think fondly of my own escapades around Italy about five years ago. I appreciate how the service is warm and welcoming without being overbearing, and the inside of the cafe provides an abundance of space. A certain pleasure and delight emerges from simply being in a place that is run well and run thoughtfully. There is nothing particularly distinctive about this cafe, but there's nothing wrong with that: it is simply trying to be a comforting Italian cafe, and in that ambition, it succeeds.

Meravilioso! Che posto fantastico. Escobar has been here three times already this week. First time for takeaway fish and chips which were great. Nice thin batter. Then for ice creams which were delicious. Then for our evening meal. The first time we tried to get in it was full up all night so we booked in the next time. Make sure that you book to avoid disappointment. Just ring up or pop in. Our meal was excellent. Our host recommended a lovely bottle of wine. The food was delicious. It's great here because you can have half portions so I had half a portion of pasta and a seven inch pizza. Best of both worlds! The price was very good too and the service was very attentive. Ma, questo bar è davvero fantastico. Bennisimo.

Popped in for a banana sundae but had to pretend we wanted lunch as well, after all we aren't kids. Had a wee Parma pizza which unlike Pizza Express was crispy and they didn't skimp on the ham. The better half had a Caprese salad and garlic bread with mozzarella. A generous starter salad and left room for her mint choc sundae. As always the service was excellent. We live in Sheffield but are up visiting relatives and we always pop into Corrieri's as our treat. Sheffield has nothing like this. What is more amazing about this cafe/restaurant is my parents came here on their first date and I am 55 yo, for this business to he going this long they are doing something right, continuously.
