If I could give more stars I would. This week is the 1st time ever that myself and my wife have ate 3 Indian meals in less than a week, its usually reserved as an occasional treat. We live near Straiton South Ayrshire and after having a few less than ideal experiences with the better known restaurants/takeaway in Ayr, we thought we would branch out, and found this hidden gem of a place. On sunday 26th got a shaslik king prawn with Chasni sauce rice and a naan....to say it was fabulous and out of this world isn't enough, the quality and portion size was astounding the king prawns were more like lobster tails, we LOVED this so much we thought let's go Monday for more of the same but its the night off for the guys. Went back on Tuesday and the lovely beautifully mannered owner greated me with delight, ordered the same, his service was so GREAT I told him next time in Kilmarnock for a movie we'd pop in for a sit down as I was so enamoured with his hospitality. We both Decided to see a movie to night so as promised we spent the most delightful 2 hours in his gorgeous restaurant, he was so friendly happy gracious, his service is second to none......please if you are reading this review or have only ever had a takeaway from this restaurant you simply MUST go see this amazing man and sample his hospitality and the 1st class food. tried for first time called up for collection stated start of call "set meal for 2" then told about 20 mins was 40 mins by time I got it, time I walked out with it at 22.30pm, the price had went up about £3 from what I saw online to £29.30 when I queried this I was told I never said set meal when I did(customer always right?) Placed a large order for collection last night for 7 people with both starters & main courses all prepared for collection in double quick time and was cooked to perfection while being piping hot with each dish having its own individual aroma and unique flavours and ingredients to create the most amazing sauces along with the enfused & marinated meats used, giving each bite most exquisite of taste.. and no exaggeration when I mention the portion sizes were brilliant we could have feed an additional 4-5 people you definitely get value for money eating from Exotic Kitchen.
