A Haddock crispy fish like never before:

We are staying in a resort a short drive away from here and given that Eyemouth is… in my eyes a traditional fishing village, my expectations walking in was that I was going to get a great piece of fresh, tasty fish. Ohh my, that I did!

We walked in to the busy fish a chip shop, were the staff where busy serving take away customers. As we continued our walk through, there was many customers also sat in enjoying their food.

The customers to staff ratio was outweighed, but this did not deter the fast service and the quality of the food that came out to the table.

We got the Haddock dinner which was served with chips and tartar sauce. It came to a total of £14.95 each (this was a sit in price and would have come to £10.90 if I’d have chosen to take away. We got mushy peas and a curry as a side to go with.

My honest opinion is that I would have paid £14.95 for the fish on its own. It was that good! It came out huge! It was golden and crispy and was everything you want a fish to be. The chips were crispy and that tartar was bursting full of flavours.

The curry was a bit of a let down but could not be mistaken for curry in any way. Also, the curry was an added extra, therefore not the most important thing at the table.

This meal will stay with me for a while, giving me all the uncomfortable dad noises for the rest of the evening as the portion sizes were fantastic. I made sure to eat it all, and even took the last of the missus chips as my fish to chip ratio wasn’t right toward the end.

It would have been criminal to let the gulls enjoy any of the scraps that would have been left if I was anywhere else in the UK. This was hands down, the best fish I have ever had, and I don’t throw away comments like that.

Giacopazzi, you done Eyemouth very proud serving your food to this standard and that...

So.... my friend and I went there the other day (tuesday. went in and first of all it was 11:10 and the women said ooo sorry we don't open till 11:30 Total respect for that they have a time to open and that was totally fine. So we left and then came back after 11:30. We were greeted by a women who just stared at us and then I was like "please may we have a table for 2" then she goes "mhm" grabs 2 menus and says "BTW just making sure that you aren't coming in here just to each chips because we have big family's that come in here and spend lots of money" my freind said "oh ok sorry." Then the women said "And! We are very busy today so you can't stay long" for the record NOBODY was inside except us and the workers. Then I was putting my drink into my pocket because I got it from the coop earlier and was gonna drink the rest later and the women goes "oh! We serve drinks here so don't think about drinking that here" I told her I wouldn't. since she was so rude to us my friend said to her "can we just get 2 takeaway chips then" and she was so very happy that we got a takraway but what shocked me is that how rudely she spoke to us and offered 2 elderly people 2bolls of chips saying "the usual?" And was nice to them. The food was lovley and i normally go there if I'm going out with my friends in eyemouth but that was my first bad experience sadley didn't get the womens name but it s all ok.i...

We looked at eating in one of the pubs but as it was such a beautiful day, got takeaway from Giacopazzi's & ate it at the table and chairs opposite. We both had scampi suppers and got a sausage for our dogs. It was simply delicious. A generous portion of scampi and lovely crispy chips. I was so full but didn't want to stop eating it. We had curry sauce too & it didn't disappoint. I did think the sausage was expensive at £4 but we couldn't leave our dogs out 😂 I don't know if it is dog friendly inside but when we return in future we will always get our lunch here and if it's poor weather eat them in the car if dogs are not welcome inside. The only other thing to say is I struggled to get out of the door with the boxes and curry sauce and not one member of the public including 2 burly NHS workers offered to help me. Not a negative for the restaurant but it's sad when others don't...

Popped back into Eyemouth for lunch and visited Giacopazzi's. Food was fantastic. Service outstanding. Fish was so fresh and chips were quite possibly the best I have ever had. Fish and Chips for £9.50 and it was so worth it such was the quality and the portion size. My daughter had a Pizza and Chips from the kids menu followed by an ice cream and she loved everything. We sat outside in an eating area just across the road directly opposite enjoying the basking sun sat right next to the harbour. I would highly recommend anyone driving down past Eyemouth to stop into Giacopazzi's and stop of for a quick bite to eat. You will not regret it.
