Gusti D'Italia — Restaurant in Scotland

Excellent small and authentic Italian restaurant. We booked for a 5p.m. dinner and were 1st in the door. By the time we had our starter the 16 or so tables were all full, a good sign. The staff were courteous and took our jackets before handing menus and taking a drinks order. The menu has a pre theatre 2 course menu or a few pages of a la Carte selections.

We started with mussels in whitewine and garlic for my wife and meatballs in arrabiatta sauce for me. Both were delicious, very fresh, piping hot and definitely made to order.

Our mains came only 5 or 6 minutes after the starters which is excellent for me being of the hungry man type. Our Salmon in lemon cream sauce and Breaded Veal with tomato and chilli Penne were cooked to our liking ( I love my meat to be very juicy) and the sauces were plentiful as well as flavoursome.

Although we chose not to have any of what seemed to be very standard bought in dessert ( you cannae win em all) I did enjoy a nice strong frozen Margherita to finish our experience.

A total delight from start to finish and the staff were not overly intrusive. We were both stuffed and talked about the food for the rest of the evening.

2 courses each, 1 Beer, 1 Wine, 1 Cocktail for just under £60 is very good value. Please bring cash if you choose to tip as they dont have an option to do so via card.

Christmas eve dinner. Kept passing by this place when we were booked into Premier Inn Hamilton a few times. But because hubby's work included dinner vouchers at the hotel, we never got the chance to eat here. So on Christmas eve, I finally called them, it was last minute but luckily they had a table free for us. It was a 2-course set menu, good options, I went for the meatballs and hubby went for the sausage meal. We both loved it, specially the meatball sauce was divine and the toast really complimented it. I wish I had another toast though to clean up that gorgeous tasting sauce! Haha

Main was a creamy chicken in a brandy Peppercorn sauce and hubby went for pasta. Again another set of delicious plates. We ordered an extra 3rd course of tiramisu and ice cream with amarena cherries with tea and coffee to complete the night. It was a fabulous dinner.

On payment, we got a free limoncello to complete our dinner. Thank you.

Having used them many times before and having enjoyed the food, ordered a take away for a family get together. Having been told food would take 1:20 minutes. After 1:40 called and told food would be there in 20 minutes. After having to call again after another half hour told the food was on it's way. Food eventually arrived which was the wrong order - and no clarity on a GF order. No recognition as to impact on coeliac order. Called again and told they were very busy and they would correct the order. Had to call again to enquire on status of order. They knew they had made a mistake and asked if I still wanted the food. After spending £80 on the the order, the least to expect is to receive what I ordered. Absolutely despicable service and will never be used again. No apology whatsoever, other than...
