What a little gem So I have been to The Hanoi Bike Shop 3 times so far and we never been disappointed I absolutely love how cosy the restaurant is, it can get very busy so please do book in advance, i love the deco it is rustic The staff is always so careful and pays attention to what we need The food ! OMG it is super hard to choose what to eat so this is where the staff become clever little helper They offer a "banquet" it is call "feed me " where they will chose 5 dishes for you and just feed you ! what more can you ask for right ? The staff will ask about your diet as the offer a vegetarian menu AND a vegan one too ! So this last time we got greeted by some prawn crackers and peanut sauce ( that was new) A bowl of Jasmine rice arrived followed by some spicy sticky chicken This time round i asked for some tofu , the Hanoi Bike Shop proud themselves to have homemade tofu ! , what a choice it arrived in a tomato sauce , and i understand why they are proud of it , simply loved it some mix vegetables arrived next we then got served a big bowl of broth( broth may not be the right word sorry) with some dumplings We finished the meal with some fresh mint leaves tea I will add some photos of the previous time too I can't recommend this fantastic place enough , seriously if you have got somewhere new to try in 2019 or somewhere to go back , make them your choice

I recently had the pleasure of dining at a Vietnamese restaurant, and I must say that the experience was exceptional. The beef pho soup was absolutely delicious. The broth was rich and flavorful, and the tender slices of beef were cooked to perfection. It truly captured the authentic taste of Vietnam. The sweet and sour crispy pork. The pork was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, perfectly balanced with a tangy and sweet sauce. The flavors danced on my palate, leaving me craving for more. It was a culinary masterpiece that showcased the chef's skill. The traditional Vietnamese coffee was a delightful blend of bold, robust coffee and sweet condensed milk. The smoothness and richness of the coffee paired wonderfully with the sweet notes of the milk. It was a delightful way to end the meal. I would also like to extend my appreciation to the waitress, Breagha, for her attentive and caring service. She went above and beyond to ensure that my dining experience was exceptional. Her knowledge of the menu and her warm demeanor added to the overall enjoyment. Overall, highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an authentic and satisfying Vietnamese dining experience.

This is my second visit to Hanoi and we were a bit disappointed by the service last night. My first experience visiting Hanoi with my wife was great and we loved the food and had good service. I raved about it and returned last night with my mother and two brothers. We waited ages for a drink. The food arrived and the waitress spilled the sauce over the table and wiped it up with a napkin. The food was delicious but the most disappointing part of last night was the staff were obviously harassed. They rushed from table to table and the stress ruined the ambiance. This is no criticism of the staff but they were unable to contain the pressure of how busy it was, and this spilled over to the atmosphere. Hanoi is a really great restaurant that is at risk of losing custom as the staff are literally run off their feet. It was unpleasant to watch and ruined a lovely return experience. Our food came to £119 for 4 so an extra member of staff may have just changed the atmosphere last night.

It is recommended to order 2 mains and maybe 3 sides. The idea here is to share with the people at your table, so be sure to try out. There is the option to tell the staff to make the selection for you as the menu is a bit in the complicated side. We ordered the pho, fried cauliflower, the glass noodle salat and the fried squid. The Pho we ordered with 7 out of 10 spicyness, which was just right for someone who likes really spice food. I would recommend dialing it down one notch to be on the safe side. Almost everything was just brilliant. Full of texture, color and various flavors. The two things that keep me from giving out a straight 5 star rating is the cauliflower and the price. The cauliflower was off. I don't know what spice was used in there exactly, but it was overpowering everything else, so you could not taste the cauliflower at all. It is quite pricy to eat there, the portions are fair though.

I went alone on a Thursday evening, the place was busy with lots of people sitting outside and inside. When i went in the waitress was rushed but took the time to acknowledge me and find out what i needed, table for 1 inside. She seemed to be on her own and was super efficient. She gave me a table around the corner with a few tables and occupied by couples. I appreciated that i wasnt planked in the middle of a busy restaurant. She then asked if the table had enough light for me to read the book i was carrying, which I assured her there was. I ordered the wee mussels and sweet potato fritters, a glass of pino grigio and when she brought the wine she asked about my book. The food was delicious, fresh and full of authentic flavours - I was even eating the micro greens to get that holy basil flavour! I will definitely be back, alone or with friends.

Lovely environment and friendly staff. The presentation of the food is really nice. The flavor of the food, however, is rather disappointing. We had four people and ordered the banquet with a wide range of food. The only thing that I kind of enjoyed is the fish. Coming from an Asian country with a British family and living and working in the UK for many years, I would say this is Asian food with western taste, very different from my impression of Vietnamese food. I noticed there weren't many Asian people in the restaurant at the start. I didn't like the food but my British family were singing the praise of it. I found that the food was overly salty and the flavors were not well balanced. I had a great time because of the fantastic company but don't think I would come back anytime soon...
